An amazing review we received today. We will always strive to do our very best!!
Where do I start... We received a diagnosis for my mother-in-law on January 29th, 2026 - stage 4 colon cancer, stage 4 liver cancer and it had spread to her lungs as well. At the time, she was living in the SF Bay area, my husband and I live here in the Vegas area.
My husband went to take her to her 1st Oncologist appointment (February 11th) where we found there weren't very many options. They could "try" chemo and what not, but since she had very aggressive and late-stage cancers, it was suggested to "surround her with love and make her comfortable." So, she contacted friends and family that came to see her locally and my husband was going to bring her home a couple of days after that. (No one knew that she was even sick because she didn't tell anyone 😞
I reached out to a few hospice places trying to figure out what we needed to do to get her from CA (Kaiser) to NV where she wasn't a resident, nor does NV have Kaiser. I connected with Brittany W. who is AMAZING! She explained because my MIL had Medicare, we were able to get care started when she arrived. I had to provide her medical files and medication list to start the enrollment process. The next day, Erica called and we connected to go over and reconcile my MIL's medication list. She wanted to make sure everything was ready and set to be delivered when she arrived. Thank you, Erica!
Fast forward to the day my husband and MIL arrived, there was a hospital bed, bedside table, walker, bathroom essentials, and other various items delivered and set up in my house within 2 hours after they made it home. A couple of hours after that (we set it up so I would be home from work), Nurse Jessica arrived to complete the actual intake and check in on my MIL. Nurse Jessica said she her oxygen was a little lower than she'd like to see it and ordered an oxygen machine - letting me know it would be in there in 2 hours or less. It arrived 30 minutes later. A short time after the oxygen arrived, her medications were delivered. And it didn't stop there. Anytime something needed to be added or there was a request or suggestion, it was at our doorsteps within minutes!
RN's Marie & Cierra... THANK YOU, thank you, THANK YOU! These 2 ladies are Angels walking on the earthside. From our calls and questions - no matter what time of the day or night, you NEVER made my MIL, husband or I feel like we were burdens. The empathy, care, respect and emotion that you shared with us in the short time we had mean EVERYTHING! Thank you again!
We had a very short 6 whole days with my MIL. Her final request on the way to Vegas was to see her grandkids & only great grandson (who live here) and her favorite nieces & nephew from CA. Once everyone was under the same roof, she didn't have anything else to hold on to. Nurse Cierra happened to be there to come and check in on her when she started taking her final breaths. She was surrounded by love and is FINALLY out of pain.
Other honorable mentions:
*Once my MIL passed, we started receiving text messages from team members sending their condolences. Thank you!
*Ermias - who was my MIL's social worker. Thank you for checking in and providing necessary answers and documents. Thank you!
*Taylor - CNA Coordinator - for delivering items at 6 in the morning! Thank you!
*Chaplain William - We did have a Priest that came in to pray, but it was an interesting moment. Because we had mentioned the interaction, Chaplain William came by and apologized as he was out of town. He applied anointing oil and prayed over my MIL once she passed. Thank you!
*The 24-hour Nurse hotline - Thank you!
*Adapt Health - Andrew M. - for bringing & delivering supplies. Thank you!
(I apologize if I missed anyone)
Not that anyone wants to contact hospice (and this was our first time).. But, I HIGHLY recommend Physician's Choice Home Health & Hospice if you're ever in need of services for a loved one. The support they showed was relieving in such an overwhelming & emotional time. Thank you again!
