Ethiopia Hospice Care (EHC) is proud to support the work at Hospice Ethiopia, a local NGO in Ethiopia.

In an effort to strengthen Palliative Care Capacity in Hawassa, Hospice Ethiopia conducted a four-day palliative care training this Spring for 24 healthcare professionals at Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. The training brought together a multidisciplinary group of participants, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers.

Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital is one of the four hospitals in Ethiopia that provide radiotherapy services. Integrating palliative care into cancer care is therefore essential, as it is a key component of comprehensive cancer care.
As part of our commitment to improving access to palliative care, Hospice Ethiopia continues to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to deliver effective, palliative care services.

Ethiopia Hospice Care extends our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Sir Alec Reed CBE. His generosity, compassion, and lifelong dedication to Ethiopia changed countless lives.
As the founder of Ethiopiaid, Sir Alec’s commitment greatly strengthened many compassionate initiatives in Ethiopia including supporting Hospice Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. His impact will continue through the many organizations he empowered. May his soul rest in peace.
