A diabetic patient came in to see me this week, stating he had a sore foot because he stubbed his big toe at work.
When he took off his shoes and socks, the top of the foot near the big toe joint looked swollen and red, similar to a gout attack.
However, the bottom of the foot looked like this (first pic in comments). After I cleaned it up and got rid of the dead tissue, it looked like this (second pic in comments).
So…please inspect your feet thoroughly, top and bottom, using a mirror if you have to (to see the bottom of your foot). You do not want an infection like this, that most likely started with a simple blister.
