Mr. Virgia McCrea, son of the late Mr. Elmore Gibson and Mrs. Pernetha McCrea Gibson, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 28,1946. He answered the Master’s call on May 20, 2026, at McLeod Hospice.

Mr. McCrea attended school in the New York Public School System. In the early 1980s, he relocated to Bennettsville, South Carolina, and later moved to Dillon County, where he resided until his passing.

He was employed with Perdue Farms in Dillon, South Carolina, and later with Honda South Carolina Manufacturing in Florence County, South Carolina.

Mr. McCrea enjoyed collecting odds and ends and loved tinkering with cars and machinery. He was known for his quiet spirit, helpful nature, and appreciation for simple pleasures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George McCrea , and his sister, Eva Mae Godfrey.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his cousin, Velvin Miles (Fred) of Bennettsville, South Carolina; special friends, Mr. Charles and Mrs. Linda Owens of Latta, South Carolina; Melinda Roberts of Latta, South Carolina; Melissa Dew and her son Dakota; along with many other dear friends, neighbors, and loved ones.
