Grace Funeral Chapels started in 1991 in Brooklyn, New York, and is one of the largest and most elegant funeral homes in Brooklyn and Queens, offering large chapels and parking for over 100 cars, conveniently located minutes from JFK and LaGuardia Airports. It is with profound sadness and grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Oyedepo A. Oyetoro, known to many as "Toro." He passed away on September 23, 2026, at his home in Lauderhill, Florida.
Toro was born on February 2, 1964, in Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria, to parents, Timothy Oyetoro and Rachel Oyetoro, who hailed from Ifon, Osun State. He was the seventh of fifteen children, raised in a home where faith, family, and hard work came first. Those values remained with him throughout his life.
His education took him across Nigeria. He attended Lagere Primary School in Ile-Ife, Osun State, and Abeokuta Primary School in Ogun State, before attending Ilobu Grammar School in Ilobu, Osun State. While pursuing his studies, he began his career as a store clerk at BEREC Battery in Lagos. He went on to earn an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from Lagos State Polytechnic and a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Technology from the University of Lagos.
Following his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service in Kebbi State, he taught Physics and Mathematics at Itere Secondary School in Itire, Lagos. He later worked as a Quality Control Manager at BEREC Battery in Kaduna, Kaduna State, and then worked at Doyin Pharmaceutical in Lagos.
During this time, he met his loving wife and best friend, Esther Arinola Oyetoro. They married in 1993, and together they had three beautiful daughters: Elizabeth (Labake), Esther (Funmibi), and Rebecca (Yemi).
