📚 Back to school means back to routines — and a good school day starts with a good night’s sleep! 😴
Getting enough quality sleep is important for children of all ages. Adequate sleep supports learning and memory, behavior and mood, immune health, and healthy growth and development.
But sometimes, it’s not just about getting to bed on time. Sleep-disordered breathing can prevent children from getting the restful sleep they need.
Parents should watch for signs such as:
🔹 Loud or frequent snoring
🔹 Mouth breathing during sleep
🔹 Restless or disrupted sleep
🔹 Pauses, gasping, or choking while sleeping
🔹 Daytime tiredness, irritability, or behavior concerns
Enlarged tonsils and adenoids are common causes of sleep-disordered breathing in children, while allergies and chronic nasal congestion can also contribute.
As everyone settles back into the school-year routine, it’s a great time to make healthy sleep a priority. If you have concerns about your child’s snoring, breathing, or quality of sleep, we’re here to help.
