Our beloved volunteer (and previous valued employee of LCC of many years), Debbie Shaw, brought a show and tell treat for us see. Debbie made this entire blanket BY HAND. Isn’t it stunning?!

When we told Debbie how much she could make by selling these blankets, Debbie sweetly replied, “Oh, really? I’ve never thought to sell them. I just make them to give away to friends, family, and those in need.” We are so grateful for your big heart Debbie, and we thank you for bringing us extra color, joy, and excitement to our day!

Debbie volunteers every week as a helper for BINGO. We couldn’t do activities like BINGO without volunteers like Debbie. Perhaps you have time to spare to bring some joy and love to our residents? On Thursday, we celebrated National Farmworker Appreciation Day with

🚜 a thank you card for each of our residents who are farmers

🌾 a sticker for our resident farmers to wear that said “I’m a proud Iowa farmer”

🐓 an activity spent reminiscing farm life, sharing farm stories, and watching a video about Iowa farming

👩‍🌾 a guided tour for 13 of our residents at the Albert City Threshermen’s & Collectors Show

🐄 delicious homemade ice cream from the Threshermen’s show

🌽 yummy bags of kettle corn for our staff to enjoy to show our appreciation for all they do

💚💚We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our Threshermen’s Show friends who gave us the opportunity to tour their grounds, provided us with a knowledgeable and kind tour guide, and generous donations of ice cream and kettle corn.
