Let’s 👏🏽 give 👏🏽a 👏🏽hand 👏🏽 to these amazing therapists that are a part of our team!

Occupational therapists are Masters or Doctorate level clinicians who help make life more functional and liveable for anybody! OT’s work to improve ADL’s after medical events, improve sensory and emotional regulation in children, help with assistive devices, and in our case here - provide therapy for the upper extremity and hands! They can even advance their education to become certified hand therapists!
These skilled clinicians make a difference everyday and we at LGH couldn’t do it without them.

Rather than asking - “what’s the matter with you?” OTs typically function based on “what matters most to you?”

🚨 🚨 ‼️ NEW THERAPIST UNLOCKED ‼️ 🚨 🚨

Vix graduated with both her bachelor’s and master’s in occupational therapy from Ithaca College in ‘21 and ‘22 respectively, where she developed an early interest in hand therapy. Vix did two clinical rotations studying under hand therapists before coming to Lawrence General. Vix is certified in dry needling and has taken advanced splinting courses in order to further develop her skills. She mainly works out of the YMCA and Marston Street clinics, and her clinical interests are orthopedic injuries and upper extremity rehab. Outside of work Vix enjoys playing frisbee, being outside, and watching basketball.

Some of our therapists had the opportunity to attend the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in Boston!

This conference is filled with many companies, new equipment, the latest tech, and lots of informational and evidence based lectures for therapists all over the country to learn.

Our therapists were able to learn many different topics such as chronic pain management, Achilles tendinopathy, tactical athlete cases, and many many more.
