At PTP, we understand that emotional development changes at every stage of childhood and adolescence. What may look like “misbehavior” is often communication. What feels overwhelming may be developmentally appropriate.

Growing Minds, Growing Emotions, Growing Children, highlights what emotional growth looks like from early childhood through adolescence and how caregivers can respond with understanding, structure, and support.

Age 8 🧠👩🏽

When we understand the stage, we respond differently.
When we respond differently, children grow confidently.

Follow along as we explore each age and the emotional milestones that shape healthy development.

Because behavior is communication and every child deserves to be understood!

Wishing all of our clients, families, students, and school communities a safe, successful, and positive school year! 🎒📚✨

As we transition from the slower days of summer into new routines, schedules, and responsibilities, remember that it’s okay to take this new adjustment one step at a time.

A few tips to ease the transition:
- Start adjusting sleep schedules early
- Create a consistent morning and evening routine
- Talk to your child about how they’re feeling about the new school year
- Set small, realistic goals for the first few weeks
- Make time to rest, recharge, and have fun… even during busy school days

A new school year can bring excitement, change, and sometimes a little anxiety. PTP is here to support children, adolescents, and families every step of the way. If your child or family could benefit from additional support this school year, reach out to learn more about our services.

We have several options for referrals, please visit https://www.pathwaystransitionprograms.com to learn more and make your referral today!

Here’s to a year of growth, learning, confidence, and success! 💚
