25 years ago and for many lives changed forever. For those of us old enough to remember, we all have a story to tell. I was driving up the NJ turnpike for my first big girl job out of college. It was early and the closer I got to the office building I worked I began to see police, fire, emt speeding by. At 22, I never thought to turn on news radio. I arrived at my office to the owners of building who I knew only by name, “Jen get in here, sit down watch the tv one of the twin tours has been hit by a plane”. “What?” Was all I could say. I sat, I watched the second tower get hit. We all left. My coworker who was also with us frantic lost a close family member in the towers that day. I drove home to find the tv on just myself and my brother watching. He enlisted in the military verv soon after. as did manv young men I know.All of them suffered injuries during their service fighting for our freedom and democracy. Today we remember we are one. For those who served that day and beyond, it is with love and |gratitude I thank you for your service and strength. For those who lost loved ones in the towers, on the front lines or at war and deployment, your grief is remembered and never foraotten. And for the others affected that day, know we all have a bond whether we know one another by name or are strangers that is quietly understood by nature of a shared experience. Today we remember with a solemn promise to never forget.

This course is designed for LCSWs, PhDs, PsyDs, LPCs, and LSWs who work with families and children living with chronic or terminal illnesses. In this course, clinicians will gain an understanding of and clearly define both anticipatory grief and ambiguous loss as they relate to children with chronic or terminal disease and their caregivers and families. The curriculum will cover caregiving issues and family dynamics, as well as how to discuss diagnoses, prognoses, and end-of-life topics such as end-of-life care and dying within the family system. Additionally, attendees will gain an understanding of medical care management and how navigating the healthcare system can impact emotional well-being and mental health. Finally, the course will explore how to integrate the concept of hope and its significance while supporting children, families, and caregivers as they navigate this difficult life experience and grieving process. Participants will earn 2 clinical CE credits upon completion of the course and the course evaluation.
