Fall sports are here, which means it’s time to check more than the equipment list. 🏈⚽️🏑

A sports physical is more than a form to get signed before the first practice. It’s an opportunity to make sure your athlete is ready for the demands of the season, review previous injuries and health concerns, and address anything that may need attention before they take the field.

Parents should be prepared to discuss things like previous injuries or concussions, asthma, medications, exercise-related symptoms, and any pain that hasn’t fully resolved.

And if your athlete is already dealing with pain, swelling, weakness, or another unresolved injury, a sports physical may not be enough, they may need a dedicated sports medicine evaluation.

Don’t wait until it's too late.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY 101 | PART 1

What exactly is shockwave therapy?

Shockwave is a non-surgical treatment that uses acoustic energy to target areas of chronic tendon, fascia, and soft-tissue pain. It also helps stimulate a local tissue response.

But it's not a one-size-fits-all treatment or a quick fix. The first step is understanding what's actually causing the pain.

Next up: Who is shockwave therapy for?

Follow along for Part 2! 👏

Runner's knee isn't always a waiting game. 🏃

If knee pain has been slowing you down, you're probably wondering how long it will take to recover.

The truth is, there's no one-size-fits-all answer.

Recovery depends on what's causing your pain. For some runners, a few adjustments to training may be enough. For others, improving strength, mobility, or running mechanics is the key to getting back on track.

The sooner you identify the root cause, the sooner you can create a plan that supports recovery, and helps prevent the pain from coming back.

Dr. Peter Wenger's full blog explains what affects runner's knee recovery and how to know when it's time to seek a sports medicine evaluation. Check it out at the link in bio ☝️
