Starting early on those therapy notes πŸ˜„

We like to train our future therapists young… attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and clearly very motivated to get to work.

In all seriousness, these early moments of reaching, exploring, and interacting with the environment are how learning begins. But we’ll go ahead and say the note writing skills are coming along nicely.

Feeding therapy isn't just about what's on the plate.

It's about:

🍎 Joining family meals with less stress
πŸŽ‚ Participating in birthday parties
🏫 Feeling more comfortable during school lunches
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Sharing meals with family and friends
❀️ Building confidence around food

When children expand the foods they eat, the impact often reaches far beyond nutrition.

The child featured in our recent feeding therapy success story gained more than new foods. He gained confidence, improved participation at school, more positive mealtime experiences, and greater opportunities to connect with the people around him.

That's why we celebrate every feeding victory, no matter how small.

Because feeding progress isn't just changing what's on the menu. It's helping children participate more fully in everyday life.

Screens are part of everyday life, but have you ever wondered how they may impact your child's communication skills, attention, and ability to regulate emotions?

While technology can be a useful tool, children learn best through play, movement, conversation, and connection. Too much screen time can reduce opportunities for the sensory experiences and interactions that support healthy language development.

In our latest blog, we explore the connection between screen time, sensory regulation, and communication skills, along with practical tips parents can use to create a healthy balance.

πŸ’¬ How does your family balance screen time and play time? Share your favorite screen-free activities in the comments!

Happy 9th Birthday to Rogers Bridge Pediatric Therapy! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸŽ‰

Nine years ago, Rogers Bridge Pediatric Therapy began with one simple goal: to create a place where children could thrive and families felt supported every step of the way.

As the years have passed, that vision has grown into something even bigger. I realized that if we wanted to provide the very best care for our families, we also needed to create a workplace where therapists and staff genuinely enjoy coming to workβ€”a place where people feel valued, supported, encouraged to grow, and reminded that what they do every day truly matters.

Over the past nine years, we've been incredibly grateful to:
πŸ’™ Support hundreds of children and their families through milestones big and small.
πŸ’™ Grow into a multidisciplinary team offering speech therapy, occupational therapy, feeding therapy, AAC services, myofunctional therapy, teletherapy, and early intervention.
πŸ’™ Build a team of compassionate, talented professionals who share the same passion for helping children succeed.
πŸ’™ Create a clinic that feels welcoming, not just for our patients and families, but for every team member who walks through our doors.

None of this would have been possible without our amazing families who have trusted us with their children, our referral partners who continue to believe in us, and our incredible staff, past and present, who have helped shape Rogers Bridge into what it is today.

Every first word, every new skill, every successful bite, every confidence boost, every graduation from therapy, and every smile reminds us why we do what we do.

Thank you for being part of our journey over the last nine years. We are so excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing to serve this wonderful community for many years to come.

Here's to nine years and to many more! πŸ’™πŸ–€

If mealtimes feel stressful, you're not alone.

Many parents tell us they worry about:
β€’ Whether their child is getting enough nutrition
β€’ The limited foods their child will eat
β€’ Family gatherings and restaurant outings
β€’ Constantly preparing separate meals

Watching your child struggle with food can be overwhelming.

One of the things we loved most about the feeding therapy success story we recently shared was the parent's persistence. Even when progress felt slow, they continued showing up, practicing strategies at home, and celebrating every small step forward.

Today, their child enjoys a much wider variety of foods and can participate more successfully in family meals.

Sometimes parents need the reminder that they're doing a great job, even when the journey feels difficult.

Keep going. Those small steps matter ❀️

When families think about feeding therapy, they often picture the end goal: eating new foods.

But some of the biggest victories happen long before a child takes a bite.

❀️ Tolerating a new food on the table
❀️ Touching a food they previously avoided
❀️ Smelling a new food
❀️ Interacting with a different texture
❀️ Taking a tiny taste

These moments may seem small, but they're often huge milestones for children who struggle with feeding challenges.

The child featured in our recent feeding therapy success story didn't go from eating only a few foods to eating everything overnight. His progress happened one small victory at a time.

Those little wins add up to big changes.

If your child struggles with picky eating, remember that progress doesn't have to be fast to be meaningful.

🍎 "He's finally able to eat everything."

Those are words every parent of a picky eater hopes to say one day.

Many children struggle with more than just "being picky." Feeding challenges can involve sensory sensitivities, oral motor difficulties, anxiety around new foods, or developmental differences that make mealtimes stressful for the entire family.

In our newest blog, we share the inspiring story of a child with autism who began feeding therapy with a very limited diet and significant difficulty trying new foods. Through patient, child-led therapy and strong family support, he gradually expanded the foods he would tolerate, taste, and eventually enjoy.

His journey is a reminder that feeding progress doesn't happen overnight, but with the right support, incredible growth is possible.

❀️ Read his story and learn how feeding therapy can help children build confidence with food.
