FRANKLIN– Jack Newton Franklin, age 87 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on, Friday, September 4, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 9, 2026, in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Pastor Wayne Cooke officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to service. A native of Gwinnett County where he worked until retiring in 1994 after 31 years as an Inspector for the county. He attended Believers Baptist Church. Jack loved being outdoors, either fishing, hunting or on his tractor farming. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Lucy Mae (Chatham) and A.G. Franklin, brothers Ralph Franklin, Clarence Franklin, Ronnie Franklin. His sisters Geneva Gazaway, Dorothy Atwood, Mary Ann Masters and Faye Franklin. His is survived by his son John Newton Franklin, son Keith (Connie) Franklin, daughter Cathy (Eddie) Ross, son Neal (Jill) Franklin, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. EDWARDS - Esther Martha (Wilkerson) Edwards, age 89, of Dacula, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, with family by her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, GA, on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM with Rev. Deanne Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. Esther was born November 26, 1936, in Rabun County, GA and moved to Lawrenceville when she was in the 9th grade. Esther was a 1956 graduate of Lawrenceville, GA. Esther was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church until 2020. Afterwards she attended & became a member of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class & the LVFUMC Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Edwards; grandson, John Manikowski; parents, Ruth (Davis) & Carnie Wilkerson; brothers, Phillip Wilkerson, James Wilkerson; and sister, Elsie Allen. Esther loved her family and cherished the time she had with all of them from her own children to her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Joshua Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service. Bob became a Ham Radio Operator when he was 16 years old with the call sign W4ETN. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked as an engineer in the air purification industry. Bob was a member of Snellville VFW Post #4180. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Joseph and Victoria Marion (Scillia) Varone. Gerald was born on June 23, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jesse Richard and Edna Mae Carter. He was the oldest of four siblings and had a twin sister, Jessica.

Gerald attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1967, where he was an active participant in the tennis team, chess team, science club, and key club. He went on to attend Anderson University and Indiana Wesleyan University, earning both his bachelor's degree in Management and MBA.

It was at Anderson University in 1971 that Gerald met the love of his life, Diana. The two were united in holy matrimony on October 7, 1972, beginning a marriage that would span 53 years. To this union were born two children, Gerald II and Toneka.

Gerald was a devoted man of faith. He was baptized and served as a faithful member of Arrow Heights Community Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, under the leadership of Reverend Robert Terry. He also briefly attended Eastside Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, where he participated in the choir. After relocating to Georgia, Gerald joined Tabernacle International Church, where he completed the church's School of Ministry course in 2015 under the leadership of Apostle Fritz Musser. He was also an active participant in the Hanamil Online Prayer and Bible Study Group.

She grew up in Lawrenceville, GA, and graduated from Central Gwinnett High School in 1962 and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Eleanor continued her education at Emory University, graduating in 1967. She went on to serve as a second-grade teacher at Dyer Elementary in Lawrenceville for many years, touching the lives of countless students through her dedication and love of learning. Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter, Eleanor “Ellen” Lucille (Gilreath) Carmack; and parents, Sara Ruth (Medlock) & Ernest Lawrence Keown, Jr.; and brother, Ernest “Ernie” Lawrence Keown, III. Throughout her life, Eleanor was deeply devoted to her family. Otis retired from BellSouth/AT&T after 31 years of service and then owned his own company, Woods Security. He attended Praise Community Church and enjoyed farming, being outdoors, and gospel music. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service. Mike was a proud Mason, who lived his life built on the foundations of integrity, fellowship, and service. Mike was a respected community figure, who spent 50 years helping build the roads of Georgia as a paver and later becoming a supervisor at Shepco Paving. A lifelong NASCAR fan, he loved to watch exciting races. That love for automobiles extended far beyond the television screen—he was a talented mechanic who found true joy in the hours spent in the garage, restoring classic cars, and sharing that time with his son. Mike was often found at local car shows admiring the cars others had brought and chatting with fellow enthusiasts who shared his passion. Above all his hobbies, nothing brought him greater pride than his family. As an exceptionally active and devoted grandfather, he enjoyed being present at his granddaughter’s softball games. Pat was born in Wheeling West Virginia September 1st, 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mae Florence (Henderson) and James William Keefer and sister, Karen Hawkins. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ken Miles of Loganville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Angela Miles, Jr. of Loganville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Christine Anne and Mark Morrow of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Jim Keefer and sister, Susan Bailey. Her grandchildren, Zach Miles, Emily and Jordan Yoder, Kyrie and Stephen Still, Elyse and Caleb Pierce, Cody Miles; great grandson, Nolan Yoder and 1 more on the way.

Pat loved Jesus, her family, animals and flowers. She faithfully served God, was always willing to volunteer her time at church or to help others, she was considered “mom” to everyone, and had a determined spirit almost to a fault. His yard was his sanctuary—a place where he could spend hours cultivating life and enjoying the fresh air. Khamvang loved to travel. Especially to his homeland of Laos. Returning there brought him profound happiness, reconnecting him with the traditions, landscapes, and culture that shaped the man he was. Khamvang was rooted deeply in his faith and community, he was a devoted and active member of Wat Buddha Khanti. Gabrielle (Gabby) Monique Sterling, age 30, of Cohoes, NY, passed away on August 18, 2026, in her home at The Lofts at Harmony Mills.

Gabby was born in Rhinebeck, New York, to Dorrel Sterling and Owen Sterling Sr. on January 30, 1996. After graduating from Hudson Sr. High School, she briefly lived in Georgia and began pursuing her education in nursing. She later moved to the Capital Region of New York, where she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College in 2020. She returned to Sage earlier this year to pursue an advanced degree in nursing with aspirations of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

She began her career as a Registered Nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital before transitioning to travel nursing throughout New York. She concluded her nursing career at Saratoga Hospital, where her nursing number was ceremoniously retired in her honor. She was a DAISY Award recipient, recognized nationally for her extraordinary clinical skill, compassionate care, and dedication to her patients.

Outside of the hospital, Gabby enjoyed cooking and baking, traveling, shopping, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with loved ones. Friends and family remember Gabby as a deeply loving, compassionate, and selfless person who had an incredible ability to make others feel important and cared for.
