🌿 Sunday Wellness — Hydrate, Reset & Prepare
Happy Sunday, My Therapy by Michelle Family! 💚
Sunday is a great day to slow down, check in with your body, and prepare for a healthier week ahead. Consistency with the little things—hydration, movement, nutrition, sleep, and regular bodywork—can make a big difference.
💧 Are You Dehydrated?
Your body needs adequate fluids to regulate temperature, support digestion, move nutrients, and keep your muscles functioning properly.
Watch for these common signs of dehydration:
Dark yellow urine
Dry mouth or lips
Headaches
Fatigue or low energy
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Muscle cramps
Constipation
Feeling unusually thirsty
Urinating less frequently
Sunday challenge: Start your morning with a glass of water and keep a bottle nearby throughout the day. If you've been sweating heavily or losing fluids from illness, you may also need appropriate electrolyte replacement.
🛏️ When Should You Replace Your Pillow & Mattress?
Your sleep environment matters to your wellness, too.
Pillows: Many pillows need replacing about every 1–2 years, although quality and material make a difference. If yours is flat, lumpy, permanently stained, or no longer supporting your neck comfortably, it may be time.
Mattress: A typical mattress may last roughly 7–10 years, depending on its construction and condition. Sagging, waking with new aches, poor support, or sleeping better somewhere else can be signs that yours needs attention.
Good sleep positioning and proper support can help reduce unnecessary strain on your neck, shoulders, hips, and back.
🥗 Meal Prep Idea of the Week
Keep it simple:
Grilled chicken or salmon + roasted vegetables + brown rice or sweet potato
Prep several portions today so you're less tempted to grab something less nutritious when the week gets busy.
💪 How Much Protein Do You Need?
Protein needs vary based on your body weight, age, activity level, health, and goals. Rather than relying on one number for everyone, focus on including a quality protein source throughout the day.
Easy options include:
Eggs
Greek yogurt
Chicken or turkey
Fish
Beans and lentils
Cottage cheese
Tofu
Nuts and seeds
If you have kidney disease or another condition that affects your diet, talk with your healthcare professional before significantly increasing protein.
🧘🏾♀️ Your Sunday Reset
Take a few minutes today to ask yourself:
Have I hydrated? Have I moved my body? Have I prepared nourishing food? Have I scheduled time to rest and recover?
And don't forget—massage doesn't have to wait until you're hurting. Regular therapeutic massage can be part of a consistent wellness and recovery routine.
