Foods That Support Hormonal Health
Your hormones are influenced by many things—including nutrition, sleep, stress, and lifestyle habits. While no single food can “fix” hormone concerns, a balanced diet can help support your body’s natural processes.

Some foods that support overall hormonal health include:
🥦 Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts
🥑 Healthy fats like avocado, olive oil, nuts, and seeds
🐟 Omega-3 rich foods like salmon, chia seeds, and flaxseed
🍳 Protein-rich foods like lentils, beans, tofu, and Greek yogurt
🍎 High-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes

Small, consistent choices can support your energy, metabolism, and overall wellness. Remember—hormonal health is about the whole picture, not just one factor. 💜

We’d love for you to get to know one of the wonderful women who has been part of our team for the past few months! Meet Trish, a Medical Assistant with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare.
Trish began her career in pediatrics and has had the opportunity to work in many different areas of medicine throughout the years, including the lab, cancer care, family medicine, and most recently, ENT, where she spent several years. She has been part of the Lawton-area medical community for most of her career and is now enjoying her new journey in women’s health.
What Trish loves most about being part of our team is the shared commitment to making every woman feel welcome, safe, heard, and cared for. She truly believes in creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported from the moment they walk through our doors.
When Trish isn’t at work, she’s spending time with the people she loves most. She has been married for 20 years and has two grown children. One of her favorite roles is being a Gammy! She also enjoys relaxing on the porch, taking in the scenery, and making memories with her besties—whether that means watching movies, thrifting, crafting, or simply enjoying good company.
We’re so happy to have Trish as part of our team and hope you’ll say hello and get to know her the next time you see her!

Why don’t we rely on one hormone test to diagnose perimenopause or menopause?
Many women are surprised to learn that a single estradiol or progesterone level does not always tell the full story.
During perimenopause, hormone levels can fluctuate significantly from day to day. A woman may have a “normal” hormone level on the day of testing and still be experiencing symptoms related to changing hormones.

Instead, our clinic looks at the whole picture, including:
• Your age and stage of life
• Changes in your menstrual cycle
• Symptoms you’re experiencing
• Your health history

Symptoms like hot flashes, sleep changes, mood changes, vaginal dryness, brain fog, and irregular periods can provide important clues when evaluating perimenopause and menopause.

Your symptoms matter. Hormone health is about more than just a number on a lab report.

We have lots of new faces to our page so we would like to reintroduce our provider!
Meg Weaver, APRN, FNP-C opened Lawton Women’s Clinic to provide a safe and inclusive space for patients to receive s*xual health care. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Simmons in Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Oklahoma.

She brings experience as an FNP in primary care and s*xual health after many years of work as a registered nurse in numerous areas including ICU, outpatient surgery, pain management, and inpatient psych. After an internship in HIV prevention and management, Meg began working as a nurse practitioner at a women's health center in Oklahoma City, where she gained the knowledge and expertise that she now brings to Lawton Women’s Clinic.

Meg has undergone additional training in the practice of pelvic floor therapy in an effort to improve patients' quality of life and allow them to regain function when suffering from conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and other conditions affecting the pelvic floor.

Meg’s ability to make patients feel heard and acknowledged - as well as her down-to-earth personality - makes her a sought-after clinician in an area of health care that often provokes anxiety in patients.

Meg has a daughter, Mia; two cats, Kitty & Raven; and a dog, Mattie. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, practicing yoga, and hiking. She spends time daily working toward Spanish language fluency.
