A day late to the celebration… but a whole lot of gratitude that never goes out of style. ❤️

Yesterday was National Women-Owned Business Day, and while I may have missed the actual day (because I was so excited about it being PT month 😂), I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to say how incredibly grateful I am to be a woman-owned business owner.

Building this practice has been so much more than treating patients. It’s been getting to know the people behind the injuries, celebrating the small wins, being there through the frustrating days, and watching patients get back to the things they love.

Every appointment, referral, recommendation, message, and “I could do... with no pain/leaking/heaviness today!” update means so much to me. 🥹

You’ve trusted me with your bodies, your goals, your frustrations, and sometimes the things you’ve been struggling with for years. That trust is something I never take for granted.

So, a little late, but…

**Happy National Women-Owned Business Day.** 💕
And thank you to every patient who has supported my small business and allowed me to do work that I genuinely love.

I may own the business, but **you are the reason it exists.** ❤️

🎉 HAPPY NATIONAL PHYSICAL THERAPY MONTH!

October is a chance to celebrate physical therapy — but more importantly, it’s a chance to celebrate the YOU.

The patients who show up even when they’re frustrated.
The ones working toward their first pain-free day.
The ones rebuilding strength after an injury.
The ones learning to trust their bodies again.
The ones chasing a goal that feels just a little out of reach.

Because physical therapy isn’t really about the exercises.

It’s about getting you back to the life you want to live.

It’s playing with your kids without thinking about your back.
Getting back to your favorite workout.
Walking, running, lifting, working, traveling, or simply moving through your day with more confidence.

And those little wins? They’re a big deal. 🙌

As a PT, I’m incredibly grateful to be part of that journey. Thank you to every patient who has trusted me with your goals, your setbacks, and your progress. Your wins are why we do what we do.

Here’s to celebrating movement, progress, and the people behind every success story.

Happy National Physical Therapy Month! 💙

**BLOOOPER
AND Happy National Daughter's Day to the cutie that made me a mama 💓

I've gotten a few questions about why I just stopped the Overuse Injuries Part 1 video.

THIS is why 🤣
THIS is also why I had to do it in multiple parts
Cuteness overload and...

The brain fog is REAL, friends. 😂

Between running a business, treating patients, and being a mom, sometimes the words just… leave the chat.

So if you’ve ever walked into a room and immediately forgotten why you’re there, lost your train of thought mid-sentence, or stared blankly into the distance while trying to remember what you were doing…

You are not alone.

Dr Brenna vs Chatgpt 🤣
**RUNNER’S KNEE

The internet has a lot to say about runner’s knee… so naturally, I decided to put ChatGPT to the test.

We’re putting PT knowledge vs. AI knowledge head-to-head and seeing where ChatGPT gets it right… and where Dr. Brenna has some additions 😏

🚨 **Overuse Injuries: Part 3!** 🚨

One of the biggest misconceptions about overuse injuries is that the answer is TOTAL REST. This can actually make the problem WORSE and/or cause a cycle of pain!

For most of these types of injuries, we want to figure out how much load the tissue can tolerate and modify your activity accordingly. That might mean:

➡️ Reducing volume or intensity
➡️ Taking more recovery days
➡️ Addressing mechanics, strength, coordination, sleep, nutrition, hydration, etc.
➡️ Gradually building your tolerance back up

***With bone stress injuries and fractures, these require true rest from the aggravating activity to allow the bone to heal appropriately. But when returning to the activity, you want to ensure your training, mechanics, muscle coordination, and strength are up for the task to reduce your risk of getting re-injured!

🚨 Overuse Injuries: Part 2! 🚨

One of the biggest misconceptions about overuse injuries is that the answer is TOTAL REST.

While there are times when rest is necessary, completely shutting down an activity is usually not the way to go.

For most overuse injuries, we want to figure out how much load the tissue can tolerate and modify your activity accordingly.

Some big exceptions to this? Bone stress injuries and fractures. These require true rest from the aggravating activity to allow the bone to heal appropriately.

So if you've been told or think, “Just stop doing everything until it feels better,”...this is usually not the answer! It's often do the RIGHT amount AND fix the CAUSE.

STAY TUNED for Part 3 to learn more about what TO DO!

🚨 Overuse Injuries: Part 1 — Why does this keep happening?!
*with a surprise guest appearance 🤣 👶

Ever wonder why you can do the same activity over and over… until suddenly, your body says “NOPE.”

An overuse injury happens when the load being placed on a tissue exceeds what that tissue can currently tolerate.

Your body’s ability to handle load can be affected by things like:

🏃‍♀️ Poor movement mechanics or running form
💪 Muscle weakness or imbalances
🧠 Muscle coordination issues
📈 Increasing your activity too quickly
😴 Lack of sleep or recovery
💧 Hydration
🥗 Nutrition
😩 Stress
…and often, a combination of several factors.

🎥 Check out Part 1 of my overuse injury series to learn more about what might actually be going on!

And stay tuned for Part 2, where we’ll talk about the myths and what to do about it.

Your physical therapist is headed to YOU. And bringing ALL the things.

Backpack? Check.
Massage table? Check.
PT equipment? Check.

One of the best parts of mobile physical therapy?
I bring the stuff so you don’t have to (in more ways than one 😎).

No packing a gym bag.
No fighting traffic.
No sitting in a waiting room.
No trying to squeeze a PT appointment into an already busy day.

I load up my car, bring what we need, and meet you where you are. And with all the swagger 🤣

Because physical therapy should fit into your life — not make your life harder.

My physical therapy brain: 🧠💪✨
✨ Can figure out complicated movement patterns
✨ Can fix a runner's shin pain with ONE gait cue
✨️ Knows anatomy and physiology

My sleep-deprived mom brain:
“Okay, let’s treat the RIGHT side.”

*Proceeds to treat the LEFT side.* 🤦‍♀️😂

Listen… the physical therapy knowledge is still STRONG. The anatomy is there. The clinical reasoning is there.

The problem is that I’m also the mom of a 10-month-old who has never been the greatest sleeper and is currently TEETHING HARD, and apparently my brain has decided that remembering which side of the body I’m working on is a luxury. 😂

So yes, I can still help with your pain… but after months of broken sleep, I might occasionally need to double-check whether we’re working on your right or left.

**My PT brain works beautifully.
My mom brain is running on fumes.** 😂

Drink up, mamas ☕️

✨ Celebrating the wins! ✨

When a patient tells me they were able to have **pain-free s*x for the first time in years**… you better believe I’m celebrating right along with them. 🎉

Pelvic pain can affect so much more than just your physical body. It can impact relationships, confidence, intimacy, and the ability to feel comfortable and connected in your own body.

That’s why these moments are so incredibly meaningful. 💛

Pain with s*x is common, but it is NOT something you simply have to accept as your normal. There are answers, there are treatment options, and there is hope. 🫶

Helping someone get back to feeling comfortable, confident, and connected with their body? **That’s why I love what I do.**

✨ Here’s to the big wins, the little wins, and every step toward living with less pain.
