Back-to-school season can bring excitement, but it can also bring anxiety for some children.

If your child seems unusually worried about heading back to school, know that those feelings are more common than you might think. Anxiety can also manifest in physical ways, making it important to recognize the signs early.

Your support can make all the difference. Listen, validate their feelings and remind them it's okay to be nervous about something new.

If your child's anxiety persists or you're unsure how to help, the pediatric experts at UTMB Health are here to support your family.

Scheduling your annual wellness visit is an important first step, but meaningful conversations during that visit are just as important.

Many men assume they're "fine" and may unintentionally overlook symptoms or concerns that could point to underlying health conditions. Being open, honest and asking questions can help primary care physicians identify issues early, when treatment is often most effective.
