Time to wrap-up of pitcher series.
Takeaways:
1. Post-game arm changes start immediately after stopping; significant drops in strength and Range of Motion.
2. Recovery requires AT LEAST 3 days between moderate to hard outings.
3. Recovery should include hydration/nutrition, sleep, post-game arm care, soft tissue therapy and light exercise. Promote blood flow!!
4. Take your time between pitches. Faster tempo has consequences.
5. Fatigue is your enemy. Get in shape. Otherwise, throwing mechanics change for the worse and can lead to elbow and shoulder injuries, especially in high school.
