My toddler won’t drink milk. Is that a problem?
This is one of the most common worries after a baby turns 1.
And somewhere along the way, parents start feeling that a glass of milk = good nutrition.
It doesn’t.
A toddler who refuses milk can still get calcium, protein and other nutrients through foods like curd, paneer, cheese, tofu and other balanced meals.
Even the AAP notes that milk itself isn’t absolutely necessary if those nutritional needs are being met through other foods.
So instead of stressing about:
“How do I make my 1-year-old drink milk?”
A better question is:
“Is my child getting the nutrients they need across the whole day?”
That shift makes feeding so much easier.
Save this if you are introducing cow milk after 1 year, and share it with a parent who is worried because their toddler refuses milk.
