I’ve been listening to Peter Crone talk about how so much of our suffering comes from resisting what is, and it’s really made me think.
Sometimes we know exactly what we want, but we aren’t in a place where we can choose it yet. There are bills, kids, insurance, responsibilities, the real-life stuff that doesn’t disappear just because we want something different.
But there’s a difference between saying, “I’m stuck here” and “I’m choosing this for right now while I work toward something different.”
That one hit me.
Acceptance doesn’t mean you have to like where you are or stay there forever. It can just mean you stop fighting the fact that this is where you are right now.
You can want something different and still have peace with the season you’re currently in.
