I always love going to the annual meeting of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. It’s great to hear the *perspectives* of other surgeons as we all encounter similar challenges when taking care of high performing athletes. We all see the same anatomy and injuries. The more we share our perspectives the more we all learn together.

As always, it remains an honor and a privilege.

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

This Independence Day is kind of special as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday. I hope everyone enjoys the traditions that make this holiday special; family, friends, cookouts, and fireworks.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I have one small request: please don’t make me part of your holiday plans. My team and I genuinely don’t need the business this weekend.

Enjoy the fireworks from a safe distance, keep an eye on the kids, wear shoes around the grill and yard, and leave the explosions to the professionals whenever possible.

Have a wonderful, safe Fourth of July, and here’s to 250 years of freedom and community. 🇺🇸

Quick stop at Bella Napoli in in Brookside. We are on our way to the UMKC "Diveley Dinner" where we honor all the graduating Orthopedic Residents and our Sports Medicine Fellow. I am grateful to have done my Fellowship here. And I have respect for the education and tradition that all Orthopedic Surgeons go through.
