When we think about ADHD, we often picture the obvious behaviors:
✔ Fidgeting
✔ Blurting out answers
✔ Forgetting assignments
But beneath those visible behaviors is a hidden social and emotional world that many students navigate every day.
Children with ADHD may experience intense emotions, struggle to interpret social cues, worry deeply about rejection, and quietly believe they're "too much" or "not enough."
When educators understand what's happening beneath the behavior, they can respond with greater empathy, and greater effectiveness.
