Randell "Randy" Wade Lawson

Randell “Randy” Wade Lawson, born on March 1, 1966, in Idaho, passed away on August 4, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of kindness, love, and quiet compassion.

Randy’s journey took him from Idaho to Stanton, Kentucky, where he spent many meaningful years, before moving to Lafayette, Indiana. He later made his home in Rockville, Indiana, where he spent the final chapter of his life. No matter where life carried him, Randy brought with him a gentle heart and a warmth that made people feel cared for.

Randy dedicated 26 years of hard work and commitment to Kroger. He later continued working at Bones in Rockville. Those who knew him through his work knew him not only as dependable and hardworking, but also as someone whose kind spirit and caring nature made a lasting impression.

Randy also enjoyed participating in bocce ball through the Special Olympics. The sport gave him opportunities to share in friendship, teamwork, and the joy of competition. His participation was a meaningful part of his life and reflected the spirit, determination, and warmth that those who loved him knew so well.

Randy had a special love for cats and found great joy in their companionship. He also had a caring heart for others and enjoyed helping out at the group homes where he lived. Whether caring for animals or lending a helping hand to those around him, Randy showed the compassion and generosity that were such a big part of who he was.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Lawson. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Madonna; his sister, Roxanna; his brother, Tim; his sister-in-law, Denise Lawson; his nieces, Paige, Ryann, Lacey, and Gretchen; and all the family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

Randy was kind, sweet, caring, and loving—a gentle soul whose presence brought comfort to others. He had a way of making people feel seen and valued, often through simple acts of kindness, a warm smile, or the quiet support he gave without ever asking for anything in return. His love will remain woven into the hearts of those who knew him, and the memories he created will continue to bring comfort in the days ahead.

Though Randy’s time with us feels far too short, the love he gave will never be lost. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him family, friend, or coworker.

“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they shared, the memories they created, and the love they left behind.”
