We took Poppy and Vera kayaking and both did great!
After we unloaded the kayaks and gear and I went to park the truck, I noticed a handicap van with a group of people standing beside it. There were several people in wheelchairs and their caregivers from a facility. They were there to enjoy the lake and trails in the area we were at. I walked back to Steve, Dory and the dogs and said let's bring the girls over to see if the people in the wheelchairs would like to pet the dogs. We walked the girls over and I explained to the caregivers they were registered therapy dogs with Canines For Christ and asked if their residents would like to pet them. They were so excited and kept thanking us for bringing them over. One young woman in a wheelchair squealed with excitement when seeing the dogs. Vera put her paws up on the table on the front of one of the wheelchairs and waited patiently as the young woman just looked at her. The caregivers took pictures and talked excitedly about how some of the other residents that were not there would have loved seeing the dogs.
I never get tired of the opportunities God gives us to share our dogs and share His love ❤️ 🐾
