Arlene Fisher

Congratulations to Arlene Fisher, our August 2026 Resident of the Month at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation!

Arlene has been a resident at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation and is a wonderful example of kindness, faith, and friendship. Originally born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Arlene moved several times throughout her life before settling in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, where she has lived for the past 16 years.

Arlene is the proud mother of two sons, Larry and Ronald, and has one granddaughter. Larry lives nearby in Myerstown, while Ronald lives in Minnesota, where he works as a truck driver.
Growing up, Arlene enjoyed singing in her church choir and spending time at home doing arts and crafts. She began her career working in a factory before becoming a cashier at local grocery stores. One of her favorite parts of the job was meeting new people and building relationships with her customers.

Arlene enjoys listening to religious music, and her favorite singer is Johnny Cash. She also remembers enjoying watching CNN when she was younger. As a Mennonite, her faith has always been an important part of her life. She enjoys reading The Bible, and her favorite book is Philippians. Her life verse is Philippians 4:13:

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

As a child, Arlene loved animals and had three dogs named Lucky, Brownie, and Coco, along with two cats.

Today, Arlene enjoys coloring, socializing with fellow residents and staff, and spending time with her good friend, William. Her warm personality and positive spirit make her a joy to be around.

When asked about the staff, Arlene smiled and said, "I love all the staff. They take good care of me." She especially wanted to recognize her nursing assistant, Brittany, unit nurse Paul, and the facility administrator, Jennifer, for their compassion, kindness, and outstanding care.

Congratulations, Arlene! Thank you for your strong faith, caring heart, and the joy you bring to everyone around you. We are honored to recognize you as our August 2026 Resident of the Month at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation! 🎉

🎄☀️ Christmas came early at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehab, and it was a Grinch-tastic time! 💚🎅

Our staff brought the holiday spirit to the middle of summer by dressing up as the Grinch and surprising our residents. The hallways were filled with laughter, smiles, and plenty of Christmas cheer—even without the snow! 🎁✨

Who says you have to wait until December to spread a little joy? Around here, every season is the perfect season for making memories and sharing laughter.

💚 "Maybe Christmas," the Grinch thought, "doesn't come from a store." And today, it came from kind hearts, big smiles, and a whole lot of fun!

🦈 Shark Week has officially splashed into Lebanon Skilled Nursing & Rehab!

Our staff took a bite out of the fun with some jaw-some Shark Bite Drinks—the perfect refreshing treat to keep everyone cool while celebrating one of the most fin-tastic weeks of the year!

No staff members were harmed by sharks... just happily attacked by delicious flavors! From laughs to smiles (and maybe a few dramatic "shark sightings"), everyone had a great time enjoying this fin-tastic summer pick-me-up.

Here's to making waves, creating memories, and proving that teamwork is always better with a little fun mixed in! 🦈☀️🌊

🐾🚔 We had a wonderful visit at our facility today from Officer Erin and her K-9 partner!

Our residents enjoyed learning about the important role K-9s play in law enforcement. Officer Erin demonstrated her K-9 partner's (Ares) incredible training by hiding a glass jar in the room and showing us how Ares was able to quickly locate it and alert her to its location.

A big thank you to Officer Erin and her amazing K-9 partner Ares for taking the time to educate, entertain, and spend the afternoon with our residents. We truly appreciate your service and all that you do to keep our community safe! 💙🐶

🌟 Resident of the Month – July 2026 🌟Edna Hagen

Congratulations to Edna Hagen, our July 2026 Resident of the Month at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation!

Edna has been a resident at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for the past couple of years. She was nominated by Mark Tinto, Director of Activities, who shared, "Edna helps one of our residents with dementia find their way back to their room after lunch and dinner every day." Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others make her a wonderful choice for this month's recognition.

Edna grew up on a farm near Sacramento, California, and later lived in San Francisco, where she met her husband, James, who was serving in the U.S. Navy.

Looking back on her childhood, Edna fondly remembers life on the family farm and says it was a very different way of living. She went on to become a Registered Nurse, working on both the Neurology and Intensive Care units, where she dedicated her career to caring for others.

Edna enjoys listening to big band music and reading James Patterson mystery novels.

Today, Edna enjoys participating in many activities at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, including playing games, attending Bingo, socializing with fellow residents, and taking part in musical entertainment.

When asked about the staff, Edna wanted to recognize her nursing assistant, Nicole, for the exceptional care she provides not only to Edna but to all of the residents.

Congratulations, Edna! Thank you for your kindness, your servant's heart, and for making Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation a brighter place each day. We are proud to recognize you as our July 2026 Resident of the Month! 🎉

Our staff came together to celebrate both Juneteenth and Father's Day with great food, fellowship, and appreciation! We enjoyed burgers, hot dogs, punch, and cake while reflecting on the significance of Juneteenth—a day that honors freedom, resilience, and progress.🖤

We also took time to recognize and celebrate the fathers and father figures who make a positive impact every day. Thank you for your dedication, guidance, strength, and unwavering support. We are truly grateful for all that you do for your families and our community.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate, and show appreciation for the values that bring us together.
