"This program, by perpetuating itself, would ultimately eliminate care access problems." - Eric Henderson, MD

Dr. Henderson aims to establish Rwanda’s first surgical training program, introducing orthopaedic oncology to an area of the world that has none.

In the Q&A linked below, Henderson discusses what inspired the initiative, why the need is so great, and how Dartmouth Cancer Center is helping build a sustainable future for cancer surgery in Rwanda and its neighboring countries.

Lauren Rogers has built an environment where nurses feel valued, give their best, and thrive.

As an incredible Clinical Nurse Supervisor in the Intermediate Special Care Unit (ISCU), she has been a steady, inspiring presence for years. Recently, she won the Nurse Leader Award.

One of her most remarkable accomplishments has been transforming her unit from just six full-time RNs and reliance on travel staff, to a fully staffed team with no travel contracts. That kind of change doesn't happen by chance. It happens through steady leadership and vision!

Have you seen our new Dartmouth Health Children's outdoor play space? It was made possible through the generosity of Elliot Perry and the Elliot Perry Foundation.

Inspired by his own experience receiving care from our teams as a premature baby, Elliot has helped create outdoor play spaces where patients, siblings and families can take a break, enjoy fresh air and simply be kids. Located in the Courtyard on the third floor, this new space will make a meaningful difference during a child's healthcare journey.

July is Disability Pride Month, a time to honor the history, contributions, and diverse experiences of people with disabilities—the largest and most diverse minority group in our nation.

Today, July 26, also marks the 36th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), landmark legislation that prohibited discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life.

Here at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, we are proud to partner with Project SEARCH to help challenge assumptions about what people with disabilities can achieve. Through dedicated hands-on experience, our interns demonstrate every day how vital their skills, dedication, and perspectives are to our hospital and community:

We're excited to welcome patients to our new Mammography Imaging Center!

This redesigned space brings screening and diagnostic mammography services together in one location, making it easier for patients to receive the care they need without navigating between different areas of the hospital.

The new center features updated imaging technology, a third mammography room to expand screening capacity, private changing areas, and a consultation room where providers can discuss results with patients and their loved ones.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life on behalf of our Dartmouth Health patients.
