🌽 First Corn of the Season 🌽

There’s just something special about that first ear of corn from the garden. After planting, watering, w**ding, and waiting, today we finally harvested our very first ear!

The best part? It was so sweet and delicious that Z couldn’t even wait for it to be cooked. He grabbed it straight from the garden and started eating it raw! 😍

Momma planted the garden, but I think Z is making sure the quality control department is doing its job. 😂

Moments like this are why we garden—fresh food, dirty little feet, sunshine, and memories that can’t be bought in a grocery store.

I’d say our corn crop got a toddler-approved stamp of approval. 🌽❤️👶

🌿 Medicinal Weeds on Purpose 🌿

This year I’m turning the fence line around my garden into a medicinal w**d bed. Instead of fighting every “w**d” that pops up, I’m choosing plants that nourish, heal, attract pollinators, and support my family’s herbal medicine cabinet.

Already growing are:
🌱 Orange Mint
🌱 Chocolate Mint
🌱 Spearmint

And today, with a little help from my favorite tiny gardener, we planted:
🌼 Calendula – for skin healing, salves, teas, and pollinators
🌿 Yarrow – a powerhouse herb for wound care, immune support, and beneficial insects
🌿 Mullein – one of my favorite respiratory herbs, with soft fuzzy leaves and beautiful flower stalks

My goal is simple: if something is growing around my garden, I want it to be useful. Instead of a fence line full of random w**ds, I’m creating a living apothecary where every plant has a purpose.

The funny thing is that many of our best herbal allies are the plants people spend all summer trying to get rid of. Plantain, yarrow, mullein, mints, dandelion, and many others have been quietly helping people for generations.

Maybe the “w**ds” were medicine all along. 💚

Now if I can just keep the mint where I want it and not where it wants to be! 😂

I'm beyond excited for the Folk Medicine Festival tomorrow! 🌿✨

I've spent the week harvesting fresh herbs from the garden, and I'll have bundles available while supplies last. There's something special about working with herbs that were growing in the Tennessee sunshine just hours before they make it to your hands.

My first stevia harvest 🌿✨

I’m so excited to finally start experimenting with homegrown stevia! I’m dehydrating some to add into my tea blends and tincturing some to make a liquid stevia extract.

There’s something so rewarding about growing herbs from seed, learning their personalities, and finding new ways to use them in the apothecary. I love being able to create naturally sweet blends straight from the garden.

This is my first time working with stevia this way, so I’m excited to see how the teas and extracts turn out. 🌱🍵

The garden keeps teaching me something new every season. 💚
