Virginia Shipp Givan

Graveside service for Mrs. Virginia Shipp Givan will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2026, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Bro. Benny Nolen officiating. Visitation will be at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 A.M. – 12:45.

Mrs. Givan, age 90 of Lebanon passed away October 21, 2026, at the Pavilion.

Born November 8, 1935, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late John Leslie Shipp and Nannie Mae Simms Shipp. She was a dental hygienist, working with her husband, Dr. Robert Givan in his dental practice for forty years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Like her husband, she was blessed to have had a long career and a long retirement of traveling, and watching the Vols, no matter what the sport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly sixty eight years, Dr. Robert W. Givan on November 16, 2024; son in law, Tracy Cross, and a brother, John L. Shipp.

She is survived by three daughters: Ginger (Mark) Brown, Robin Cross, and Tracy (Bryan) White; grandchildren: Jarod (Brooke) Brown, Austin Brown, Wesley (Kelsie) Cross, Dexter (Samantha) Cross, Ryann (Daniel) Nemi, Sydney Hallums, and Katie Beth White; great grandchildren: Ryder, Dax, Theo, and Otto Brown, Ella, Rhett, and Demi Rae Cross; brother, Tony (Jane) Shipp; and two sisters, Mary Harding and Nancy Jenkins.

Jo Doris Sanders

Mrs. Jo Doris Sanders age 83 of Liberty in DeKalb County and a native of Lebanon passed away October 15, 2026, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Jo Doris was born in Lebanon, TN, May 10, 1943. She was a 1961 graduate of Lebanon High School and was a member of the Church of Christ. She worked at the Lebanon Garment Factory and the Tennessee Woolen Mills for a number of years before retiring from Cracker Barrel Distribution.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Bobbie Huddleston Chaffin and Glenn Chaffin; husband, Euel Lee Sanders; brother, Jimmy Chaffin, sister, Gail Chaffin Gravens.

Survivors include: three daughters, Donna Cook, Ann Lecorps, Traci Sanders; grandchildren: Jacob (Nicole) Taylor, Heath Daugherty, Taylor (Olivia) Cook, Quentin Cook, Makaleigh Sanders, Ashton Jackson, Paityn Younger, Chelsea (Matt) Carpenter; Great-grandchildren: Ellie Jo, Lane, and Cami Daugherty, Tripp and Teddy Taylor, Ivy, Winston and Aiden Cook, two step-sons, Randy (Susan) Sanders, Sandy Sanders; sister, Marilyn Gurgiolo; special friend and sister-in-law, Jenny Chaffin; her fur baby kitty, Milo.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 2 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dwayne Butler and Kevin Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jacob Taylor, Heath and Jeff Daugherty, Taylor, Quentin and Shane Cook. Visitation Sunday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
