“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31

Some days feel long, heavy, and emotionally full, especially for caregivers carrying so much at once. Our heart for caregiver care is rooted in this truth: a brief pause can recharge the body, settle the mind, and help the day feel manageable again. These five simple exercises are gentle reminders that strength is not only found in pushing through, but also in taking a moment to breathe, stretch, and begin again. Redeemed In Home Care is proud to support families through compassionate service that values both the loved one receiving care and the person giving it.

As we’ve celebrated Redeemed’s anniversary this month, I’ve found myself thinking about how it all began. Like so many of the blessings in my life, it started with my Grandma and Grandpa.

When my grandfather’s health began to decline, our family quickly learned how difficult it could be to find care we truly trusted. Like so many families, we wanted him to remain at home with my grandmother, surrounded by the people and the place he loved most. We weren’t looking for perfection. We were simply looking for compassionate people who would care for him with the same love, dignity, and respect we would have if we could have been there ourselves.

Looking back now, I can see God’s hand in that season in ways I couldn’t see at the time. Through one of the hardest chapters of our family’s life, He was quietly preparing my heart for the calling that would eventually become Redeemed In Home Care.

When Andrew and I stepped out in faith to start Redeemed, we didn’t have a detailed plan or know what the future would hold, but we believed God was calling us to love and serve families in a different way. We wanted to be the answer to the prayer our own family once prayed.

I’m overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness. He has opened doors we never could have imagined, brought incredible caregivers to our team, and allowed us to walk alongside hundreds of families during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. None of it has happened because of us. It has all been by His grace, and we are grateful that He continues to allow us to serve Him by serving others.

Although my grandparents are now with the Lord, their legacy lives on in Redeemed every day. They taught me what it means to love people well, to lead with compassion, and to put my faith into action. Those lessons have become part of everything we do.

One question has guided us from the beginning. “Is this the kind of care I would have wanted for my own grandparents?” If the answer isn’t yes; then we know there’s still room to learn, grow and do better.

My heart is full of gratitude for every family who has trusted us to care for someone they love, every caregiver who has served with compassion and kindness, and every friend, referral partner, church member, and community member that has prayed for us, encouraged us, and supported this journey along the way. You have all become part of a story that began with two people I love dearly and a faithful God who continues to write every chapter. It has been an incredible privilege to walk along all of you.

Grandma and Grandpa, I miss you every day. One of the greatest gifts God gave me was allowing you to see Redeemed become a reality and to watch Him use it to bless so many families. I'll always be grateful that you were able to see how God took one of the hardest seasons of our family's life and used it for something so much bigger than we could have imagined. I'll never forget how proud you were, how you celebrated every milestone with me, or how your encouragement gave me the confidence to keep going when I wasn't sure what came next. I pray we never lose sight of why this all started and that every family we serve experiences the same love, compassion, and unwavering faith that you lived out every day.

Everything Redeemed is today can be traced back to two people who simply loved well. Thank you for showing me what that looks like.

As I look into the next nine years, my prayer is simple: that we will always choose faith over fear, trusting God to lead each step just as He has from the very beginning.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7

Happy 9th Anniversary, Redeemed In Home Care.

With a grateful heart, Brooke Winfrey
