This month the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization is encouraging everyone to have Courageous Conversations to start a meaningful dialogue on one's wishes for their last moments of life.

"What does death mean in my life?" "If I am faced with a terminal diagnosis, how would my values shape my end-of-life journey?" "How do I want my loved ones to engage with me toward the end of my life?"

It’s difficult to think about these questions, but having these courageous conversations with ourselves, family, friends, and doctors can mean the difference between having the type of death a person wants – fulfilling their values and desires – and one that doesn’t allow them to have a say in their own end-of-life journey.

Help us celebrate our health care providers this month!
There really are no words to describe the amazing work our hospice nurses do each day, and the PRIDE they take in the care they provide. We are unbelievably grateful for the love and care they share with patients, families, clients and coworkers.
We'll be celebrating - throughout May - the nearly 350 health care associates who work for Village Hospice, Village Home Health, Village Assisted Living, the Village Care Center, and our 24/7 EMS team!

Our hearts and best wishes go out to former president Jimmy Carter and his family. At age 98, our longest-living president recently chose to "spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention" following a series of short hospital stays. bit.ly/3lQW2xe
