🎉 It’s My “Build-i-versary!” 🏠🎉

I completely let my own business anniversary slip right by me! It has officially been two years since my hard launch—two years since I took a massive leap of faith and rented my physical office space after years of being virtual. It truly feels like 3 years because of how much life has been lived, restored, and transformed in this space.

When I first opened these doors 🚪, I didn’t fully know what expansion beyond my virtual clients would look like. I’ll admit, I underestimated the transition. But while I KNEW without a shadow of a doubt that my own community deeply needed grief education, what I couldn’t have predicted was the unforgettable, amazing human beings God would place directly in my path. 🛣️

In just twenty-four months, I have had the absolute honor of witnessing true miracles, deep restoration, and beautiful, yet active transformation right here in my own town and surrounding communities. My heart remains full daily.

Thank you to every single one of you for your prayers, the referrals, the collaborations, and the continuous connections.

But most importantly, thank you for doing the WORK!! 🕵🏾‍♀️🕵️🕵️‍♂️🕵🏼‍♂️ When you step into this space or join me online, you show up for YOU 🫵🏾—and I am so incredibly here for it. I know it’s not easy to take that step to face your fears and your feelings.

Here’s to the next chapter of rewriting the narrative on loss by renewing our minds, transforming our lives, reclaiming our joy, and building a community that knows how to fully embrace life while holding and honoring space for grief.

Love you all to LIFE! Mean it! 🤎

“If my own friend told me my grief wasn't 'normal'... what would another therapist think of me?” 💔🎭

That is the question a licensed mental health professional confessed to me as she brought her now unapologetic vulnerability.

The fear of being judged, pathologized, or labeled by her own peers kept her from seeking the very support she desperately needed…keeping her in a cage of isolation.

The secret she was hiding? She was still paying her mother’s cell phone bill... four years after she died. 📲🕊️

To the outside world—and even to some traditional clinical frameworks—this gets labeled as "stuck," "denial," “abnormal”…it gets pathologized as a “disorder.”

I looked her in the eyes and ensured her: It is different, but it is not wrong. In the world of adaptive processing and reorganization, the world that most clinical frameworks do not tap into, this isn’t dysfunction. It is the human heart navigating the "yearning and searching" phase of grief. 😩

When a loss shatters your world, maintaining a connection through something you can control is a brilliant example of how the mind tries to adapt. It’s not about letting go; it’s about figuring out how to carry the love that is yearning to be demonstrated without the physical presence of the person or people we hold that love for. 💔❤️‍🩹

If we, as practitioners, are too terrified to expose our own human ways of coping for fear of a clinical diagnosis from our colleagues, how can we ever expect our clients to show up unmasked?

Helpers need help. Space holders need space.

🎬 Listen to this unmasked moment before the full episode drops tonight!

What happens when the people you expect to show up for you as you grieve…don’t, can’t, won’t…do…but disappoint?

When you are the person who always has the answers, it is a lonely realization when you look around and find that no one knows how to hold the space for you. 🛋️💔

But here is the raw truth we have to face: If someone doesn’t know how to show up for themselves, they will certainly have difficulty showing up for you.

😞We often spend so much energy feeling hurt, rejected, or abandoned by the people we expected to support us through our grief and life transitions. But sometimes, it isn’t a lack of love—it’s a lack of capacity. 🫙

They cannot give you what they have never explored and given themselves. 🤔

✨ Join me as I sit down with a licensed therapist to explore how she found herself navigating this space as she grieved.

🎙️Listen to the full breakdown of the new podcast What’s Grief Got To Do With It?™ in Episode 4, “Beneath the Profession: Healing the Human Behind the Credentials” when it airs tomorrow on YouTube, Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts and iHeartRadio.🎧✨

What happens when the therapist needs grief coaching and therapy? 🤷🏽‍♀️🧐🙇🏾‍♀️

Sometimes even the mental health professionals holding the space for others have to do the work they encourage others to do. 🕯️🎭

As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month 💚, I’m sitting down with a licensed therapist for an episode that pulls back the clinical curtain to reveal the human grieving her mom.

In this 32-second clip leading to Episode 4 of the podcast “What’s Grief Got To Do With It?™”, hear how individual grief therapy didn't just heal the person —it made her a better therapist.

Lean in closer as she discovers: “You had to go through it. You had to be where they are.”

Are you ready for the full conversation? 🎧🔥

This is a masterclass in what it actually means to practice what we teach. No textbooks. No clinical jargon. Just two women, two practitioners, and the raw truth about what happens when a therapist surviving the loss of her mother goes into clinical sessions “unprocessed.”

Episode 4 drops this Saturday on YouTube and all major podcast platforms.

Set your reminders. Grab your pen and notebook because there is always a valuable lesson. Don’t miss a single moment of this eye opening 4th episode coming this Saturday.

What happens beyond the t-shirt? 👕

We know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚 But what happens beyond the bracelets and the hashtags? #️⃣

What happens after May 31st? 🗓️

True awareness means more than social media posts and Canva prints. It begs the question: How are we showing up in solidarity on a daily basis? How are we spending our time and maximizing our effort to ensure that we are truly making the most of our awareness?

Yesterday, I learned that a manager at Target recently passed away. She worked constantly—I can’t think of a time I shopped there and didn’t see her.

The first thought that crossed my mind was: “I hope people were always kind to her.”

We meet people every day without knowing what they are carrying. 🧱 We all have bad days, worries, and setbacks. But how often do we take our stress out on innocent people? 😠

I just hope people were as kind to her as I witnessed her be to people. 😇

So, what happens beyond the t-shirt? 🤔

How will you ensure you show up for yourself every day? It starts with you 🫵🏾. How do you heal so that you don’t bleed on others? And how do you extend that same grace and kindness to someone else who is quietly bleeding? 🫂
