Dr Brody Morris
My family and friends had heavily relied on traditional medicine for years. My mother was a nurse and my uncles were physical therapists which were very allopathic practices by nature. My mother struggled for years with fatigue, weight gain, and chronic neck and back pain. Luckily my mother started Chiropractic care and brought my younger brother and I along. We met our family friend, and Chiropractor, in the early 2000s. That was one of the only times I had seen my mother get relief from the chronic pain that she experienced, but she had also started acting differently and had more energy. We didn't think anything of it initially but knew the pain was getting better. We then grew away from Chiropractic when we felt we had seen enough progress. I grew up with chiropractic care for most of my adolescence but made my way through high school and college without it. It wasn't until I went to Wilmington College for my bachelors in exercise science where I decided that I wanted to get into physical therapy like my uncles. Interning at a few PT offices I realized that my dream of finding something where I could work with my hands and help people was not going to be found in this field. I thought back to my experience with the chiropractor when I was younger and looked into interning at an office in Wilmington while I was in school. I realized that this was it, this is what I was looking for. I found my purpose and proceeded to pursue a Doctorate in Chiropractic. I ended up going to Parker University in Dallas Texas with one of my classmates from Wilmington. There we became experts in therapeutic exercise and really saw a calling to work with athletes with my background in exercise science and collegiate swimming. Ranging anywhere from weekend warriors to pros I know Chiropractic care can help boost athletic performance and decrease injury chances. I am passionate about Chiropractic because I have seen it work at a much deeper level than I could ever imagine. After we stopped going to my childhood Chiropractor my mother ended up getting back to the same place she was before, and it wasn't until after chiro school where I really developed my philosophy. My mom started to go back to my childhood chiropractor and I interned with him. Learning from him, I finally started to believe in the body's innate ability to heal. My mother was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis which means the fatigue and inability to lose weight and keep it off was from an issue not typically viewed as something that Chiropractic can touch. I watched her improve again in more ways than the first time and observed her transformation into someone capable of participating fully in whatever events my family was involved in. She now has the ability to keep up with her grandkids and is in the best shape of her life at 62, because she chose to do the hard thing and trust her body to take care of the rest. With the certainty and knowledge I now have I know we possess the capability to unlock your body’s full potential and heal in ways never thought possible.
