Today we are so excited to celebrate Chloe Ellis's graduation from the Adult and Teen Challenge program.
We asked her to share in her own words what her recovery journey has looked like.
This is what Chloe had to say:

" Before I found Christ, I was broken, selfish, dishonest, addicted, had no self worth, and was in and out of prison and jail at such a young age.. until God made a way, for me to return to him through Louisiana Adult and Teen Challenge.. I've been sober almost 2 years now, and my life is completely transformed. I am no longer bound by any chains of addiction, and the bondages that the enemy had me in for so many years.. I am completely restored, and my life is brand new. ♥️ I never thought I would have a life as great as I have now and it's only through the grace and mercy of Jesus.. I am officially a Teen Challenge Graduate, and now a full time staff member, which means the absolute world to me.. I am so grateful that I get to give back to the ministry and serve, and help give people what was so freely given to me! 🤍

Please help us in congratulating Chloe for all of her hard work and continued dedication to God's plan in her life 👏 🎉

Today we are honored to recognize and celebrate Perry Sauls for graduating from LifeHouse University in Donaldsonville, Louisiana!

Before entering the program, Perry found himself on a roller coaster of mental health hospitals, rehabilitation centers, detox facilities, and sober living homes while battling addiction and depression.

Reflecting on that season, Perry shares:

“I was broken and couldn’t do it by myself. A month at a time wasn’t helping. I didn’t just need drug rehabilitation any longer—I needed life rehabilitation. I needed something different. So I came to LifeHouse University and gave it my all.”

During his time at LifeHouse, Perry embraced every opportunity to grow and serve others. He became a house coach, supervised the candidate house, served as a full-time driver, and eventually became a house manager. He also completed Electrical I and Electrical II.

To those who are still struggling with addiction and wondering if recovery is possible, Perry says:

“There is hope. Even in our darkest times, God is with us. He has always been with us—that’s why we’re still here. Jesus overcame death, and because He did, we can overcome this. It’s time to stand up and walk in His will. Ours just doesn’t work.”

Today, Perry has been sober for more than one year, graduated as the valedictorian of his class, and now serves on the LifeHouse administration team, continuing to pour into the lives of others.

Perry, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! Your life is proof that recovery is possible, hope is real, and God is still transforming lives. We are thankful to celebrate this milestone with you and look forward to seeing all that God has in store for your future.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Congratulations to our women graduates of the Inside Out Rebuilding Program 🎓 👏

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sheriff Craft, Chief Turner, Warden Conn, Assistant Warden Longmire, Captain Williams, Detective Burwell, and all Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies for their continued support, partnership, and commitment to helping men and women find a new direction. 🤝🚔

• A special thank you goes out to our guest speaker, Chief Calvin Turner. We appreciate his gracious words of support and encouragement to our graduates 🎓 ❤️

• Another special thank you goes out to Pastor Nicole Crawford from The Church International in Rosepine for her encouraging words to our women graduates - reminding us our old labels no longer have to define us - we have been made new 🎓 ❤️
We also want to thank the ladies who came with her for supporting our women graduates on their great accomplishment!

• And last but certainly not least - thank you to the Inside Out Team!! We could not do any of this without their prayers and commitment to serving others to the glory of God!

• These graduates put in a lot of hard work this semester and we are incredibly proud of them.
It doesn't take much to begin something new - but it takes a whole lot of grace, grit, and do not quit to finish what was started! And that is exactly what these ladies did!

Today we want to recognize and celebrate Karen Holt's graduation from the Almost Home Program! She successfully completed the program and has now been reunited with her family ❤️
When I asked Karen to share the difference between her old life and new one and what encouragment she would give to others, this is what she had to say:

My Life B.C (Before Christ)
I was stuck in the Pitts of Hell, Living in Total Darkness, I Was Lost, I Had No Self Respect, Lost My Dignity and Lost Who I Genuinely Once Was. Living in total Darkness- Scary, Lonely, Stressful and Very Depressing.

My Life A.C (After Christ) SINNER SAVED BY GRACE!!!!
It Is Amazing, Never Felt Better. You Know My Savior Told Me I Don't Have to Go Back to That Life Style, I'm Walking Free Now. As Long As I Stay in God's Will He Has My Back 💯 % ... Just Stay Positive and Prayed Up. Blessings Are Everywhere.

I'm No Better Than Anyone, I Just Got Picked Before You Decided to Give Your Life to Christ or Decided to Live in God's Will. I Promise You The Hardest Part About Getting Saved and Clean was Committing to Treatment. Once Your There You Got It ! Don't Give Up, And Remember Your Doing it For Yourself Not Anyone Else. Because, I Can Promise You One Thing, Friends on The Streets aren't Your Friends.

I'm Free and Saved and Loving Life... Just Always Stay Prayed Up 🙏 🙏 🙏
And Always Be Obedient

Today we want to recognize and celebrate Justin Vallery for completing the Lifehouse – DeQuincy Campus.

I have had the honor of being by Justin’s side since the beginning of his journey. This journey started over two years ago when his mother contacted me trying to get Justin some help. Eventually, Justin got locked up and entered the Inside Out Recovery Program inside the Vernon Parish Jail.

After completing the program, he went on to prison for the next year or so before eventually being released. I can still remember sitting down at Catfish Hut talking about the next step of his journey. The decision was made — Lifehouse would be the next step.

Over the next several weeks Justin experienced obstacles, resistance, and challenges, but he never lost focus of the mission. Off he went to Lifehouse University in Donaldsonville. When the opportunity came, he transitioned to the newly opened DeQuincy campus with Lifehouse Director Reggie.

Since then, I have watched Justin get a job, keep a job, push through difficult moments, and step up as a leader to help other men still in the program. One of the most meaningful moments was watching him come back into the Inside Out Recovery Program at the Vernon Parish Jail to share his testimony with current participants — giving back in the very place where his recovery journey truly began.

Then on May 17th, I had the honor of watching Mr. Vallery walk across the platform and graduate. During his graduation speech, he shared a powerful message about perseverance and not quitting, encouraging the other participants to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles come their way.

“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” — Galatians 6:9

The moral of the story is simple: Don’t give up. Keep pushing through. Stay focused on the mission. It will pay off.

We are proud of you Justin and excited to see what God continues to do in your life moving forward.
