Hot Take: Last week felt a little funky, so we’re exercising our right to a complete studio-wide do-over. 🔄💅

If you missed class last week or we missed you, let’s just agree to blame it on a temporary glitch and start fresh. Summer vibes= lower attendance and that’s ok~ no guilt, no explanations, just a clean slate.

Ouch! 🐝 A wasp found me while blueberry picking yesterday, and let’s just say it was an immediate, fiery reminder of how quickly our environment can throw us out of alignment.
When something like a sting happens, our instinct is to panic. Your heart rate spikes, your breath gets shallow, and your nervous system takes a sudden trip straight into fight-or-flight.
But wellness isn’t just something we practice on a yoga mat when the room is quiet and the candles are lit. True balance is about how we respond to the sudden "stings" of life.
Before I even reached for a remedy, I had to stop and take three long, slow, extended exhales to anchor my nervous system, because I literally felt nauseous. When we calm the mind, we give the physical body the space it needs to actually begin the healing process.
Once my breath was steady, I turned to the ultimate skin-soother in my apothecary: Calendula oil 🌼
While wasp venom causes rapid, throbbing tissue inflammation, Calendula (Calendula officinalis) acts as a powerful, gentle counter-balance. It’s a traditional vulnerary herb—meaning it deeply accelerates skin repair—and it is packed with natural compounds that physically pull the heat, redness, and swelling out of an angry bite.

Good Morning & Happy Sunday ☀️

It feels like summer is upon us, and it’s bringing all that vibrant, slow-baked energy with it.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how yoga isn’t just the time we spend on the mat flowing through asanas. True yoga is how we connect with the world around us. It’s stepping off the mat, getting outside, tasting the season, and getting our hands a little dirty.

Yesterday, that looked like spending a beautiful morning blueberry picking—feeling the sun, reaching into the branches, and practicing a little mindfulness with every handful. Today? The practice continues in the kitchen as we process the haul to freeze and use later 🫐

It’s a beautiful reminder that when we lead our days with intention and compassion for ourselves, even the routine "work" of processing food feels less like a chore and so much more like a calling.

Good morning yogis~
I made an adjustment to our monthly calendar and am pinning it up top and printed them for our counter. We have a lot of friends taking well deserved vacations and things tend to be a little slower the first couple weeks of June, so I consolidated our weekly schedule. I put our Wildflower Flow on Fridays and for June, there will be no Saturday class.

And the weather is looking as spicy as our sessions have been this week, but don’t let that stop you from joining us for our Alchemist’s Hold Hatha session this evening at 6:05.

Today in the studio, we are diving deep into one of the most powerful things you can do for your body and mind: balance work. ⚖️🔮

It’s easy to think of balance as something static—just standing still and trying not to fall. But true balance is a dynamic, conscious daily act of care. It’s about building steady ankle and knee stability, firing up those deep core muscles, and teaching our nervous system how to catch us when life throws us off-kilter. When we build physical stability on the mat, that steady, grounded energy carries over into absolutely everything else we do.

To help us find our footing today, we’re playing with two of our favorite magical props:
🧱 Yoga Blocks: To bring the floor up to meet us, giving us a steady foundation to build strength and alignment without straining.
🦯 Balance Sticks: The perfect tool to challenge our proprioception, activate our stabilizing muscles, and give us a tactile point of focus.

Whether you feel rock-solid today or a little bit wobbly, remember: the wobble is just your brain and body learning, growing, and adapting in real-time. There is so much strength to be found in the pivot! 🌿

To kick off the new month, our Vin Hatha classes will be focusing on deep, intentional chest-opening binds. Binding is a beautiful way to create a container for your energy while simultaneously exploring your limits. By weaving together the steady, grounding holds of Hatha with the fluid transitions of Vinyasa, we will gently peel back the layers around the heart space, building strength in our upper backs and finding true freedom in our shoulders.

Whether you are looking to release tension from a busy week or simply want to invite a little more openness into your life, there is a space on the mat waiting just for you.
