My ashiatsu bars are hung!!
Total cost: about $135 in materials
*not including things I already owned like stain and sandpaper
And probably 12+ hours of time split between a few days
I’ve wanted to do ashiatsu for years. I got intimidated by the cost of everything- training, buying and installing this set up. Along with the discomfort of learning something new and not being good at it to start.
*I was told my studio space might not have enough room to fit these bars.
*I was told you’re supposed to buy a whole kit from a specialty store online or a $1,500 portable set up.
*It all scared me away for longer than it should have.
*Once I gave myself permission to just TRY it, while I knew there was a chance for it to not work out, to waste time and money… each time I practiced ashiatsu at the other clinic, I thought “…I can do this. I WANT to. And I want to TRY!” I wanted to try building what I had in mind. I’m SO GLAD I did!
*Two years ago, I began learning how to use a drill. I used an electric saw for my first time to cut wood. I truly PLAYED and stopped worrying about doing it “wrong.” I look stuff up on YouTube. I ask questions to others with more experience.
You gotta be in a headspace where it’s okay to play and try, where you expect something to not work out as being part of the process, that’s not failure- that’s just.. how it goes! You can’t know until you are in the moment learning it. Then you pivot and adjust.
I hope this inspires you to go for it and try the thing you want to try. ❤️
