Visual communication
We make a first impression as soon as we enter the room or stand in front of an audience. What is our visual communication telling people? Are we strong and confident, insecure or defeated, open or closed off? Our posture may communicate about us before we even speak. Make sure your posture gives the right message. We need to find ways to express ourselves without use of this figurative language. Be more mindful and ensure that our listeners are understanding us. As in any type of communication, “Put all your eggs in one basket”

In a recent seminar on how to “Speak, Sound, and Look Like a Leader,” we addressed various aspects of communication.

Video with no sound
What is the best way to observe your ? Watch yourself on video and turn the sound off. Without the distraction of your voice and words, you can identify whether your body language is consistent with your intended message. On the other hand, when you want to evaluate your voice, listen to the audio without watching the video. When we separate visual and vocal, we get a more accurate assessment.
