Quality in healthcare isn't just one thing.

It's communication.

It's consistency.

It's attention to detail.

It's using evidence to make informed decisions.

And it's always looking for ways to make care and outcomes better.

National Healthcare Quality Week is a chance to recognize the people working every day to improve healthcare quality - from clinicians and researchers to support staff and everyone who helps make healthcare possible.

Clinical research is part of that process, helping generate evidence that can inform the future of healthcare.

It's one of the simplest things we can do to help reduce the spread of germs - and it's easy to overlook.

October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, a reminder that proper handwashing remains an important part of infection prevention.

Wash with soap and water, scrub thoroughly, and take the time to clean all parts of your hands.

It's a small habit, but small habits can have a big impact on keeping ourselves and others healthier.

Joint pain can affect more than just movement.

It can change how someone works, exercises, sleeps, spends time with family, or handles everyday tasks.

Today, we recognize the people living with arthritis and the researchers and healthcare professionals working to learn more.

Not every clinical trial is designed for everyone, and that isn't a bad thing - it's just part of how research works.

Clinical trials have specific eligibility criteria based on the questions researchers are trying to answer. Age, health history, medications, previous treatments, or other factors may be part of those requirements.

These criteria help researchers make sure the people taking part are appropriate for the specific study and help keep the research focused on the question being investigated.

So if you see a clinical trial that doesn't fit your circumstances, that doesn't mean clinical research isn't for you.

It may simply mean that particular study isn't the right match.

MYTH: Clinical trials are only about testing new medications.

FACT: Clinical research can study much more than medications.

Depending on the study, researchers may investigate vaccines, medical devices, diagnostic approaches, procedures, treatments, or ways to better understand and manage health conditions.

Every study has its own purpose and eligibility requirements.

That's why one clinical trial can look very different from another.

Curious about research? Start by learning what the specific study is designed to investigate.

Knowing your risk factors, staying active, eating well, keeping up with routine healthcare, and talking with a healthcare professional when something doesn't feel right can all be part of taking care of your heart.

Research also continues to help us better understand cardiovascular disease and the people it affects.

Take a moment today to check in on your heart health. ❤️

Happy World Pharmacists Day! 💊

Pharmacists play an important role in healthcare, helping people understand their medications, manage treatment plans, and use medicines safely.

They also contribute to clinical research, where careful medication handling, storage, accountability, and participant education can be important parts of a study.

Today, we're recognizing the pharmacists and pharmacy teams who contribute to healthcare and research every day.

Medical research doesn't always produce answers quickly.

Some questions take years of research, thousands of participants, and many different studies before researchers have enough evidence to understand what works, what doesn't, and why.

That's part of what makes clinical research a long-term effort.

One study may answer one question while creating several more.

Progress often happens one piece of evidence at a time.

MYTH: Once you begin the screening process for a clinical trial, you're committed to participating.

FACT: Screening is part of determining whether a study may be appropriate for you. You can ask questions and decide whether you want to participate before moving forward.

Clinical research should be an informed decision. Understanding what participation involves, asking questions, and taking the time to consider your options are all important parts of the process.

If you're considering a clinical trial, don't be afraid to ask questions.
