I’m speechless as I’m standing there naked in the men’s bathroom at my new gym.

NAKED.

And suddenly, I realize…

I have made a terrible, terrible mistake. 😂

I had been getting undressed when someone walked past me toward the exit.

I only caught their side profile and the back of them.

My brain took approximately 0.003 seconds to assess the situation:

MAN.

MEN’S LOCKER ROOM.

YOU ARE NAKED.

ABORT MISSION. 🚨

I froze.

How did I walk into the MEN’S locker room?!

Do I grab my clothes?

Do I cover myself?

Do I run?

Do I pretend this is completely normal and confidently walk out like, “Good afternoon, gentlemen”? 😂

And then…

I looked around.

Wait.

No.

I was in the WOMEN’S locker room.

I had been in the right place the entire time.

My brain had taken one tiny piece of information, filled in everything I couldn’t see, created an entire story, and then convinced my nervous system that the story was TRUE.

All within seconds.

And once I stopped laughing at myself, I thought…

How often do we do this?

We see part of something.
We make an assumption.
Our mind fills in the blanks.
And then our body starts reacting to a reality that may not even exist.

Apparently my newest spiritual teacher is the locker room at the gym.

And her lesson was:

Maybe get the whole story before you panic.

Preferably before you’re naked. 😂

If you're always working on yourself but never feel better, this might be why. 🎧

Constantly trying to fix yourself can keep your nervous system stuck in stress mode. Chasing improvement all the time means your body never gets the message: I'm safe. I'm enough now.

Real healing isn't more work. It's teaching your system safety, stillness, self-acceptance.

So instead of "what's wrong with me," try: "what do I need to feel safe in this moment?"

That's where the real change begins. 🌿

"My whole body was this frayed electrical cord." 🔌

Nikki was struggling with anxiety, decision fatigue, and burnout so heavy she left her 12-year career. She gave herself six months to rest. Then she found StillPoint.

"Now everything's just going in the same direction. I haven't felt this in decades."

Real healing can feel uncomfortable before it feels freeing. She leaned in anyway. ✨

"It felt like my whole body was this frayed electrical cord."

That's how Nikki describes life before StillPoint. An empty nester navigating a huge life transition, she was struggling with anxiety, decision fatigue, and feeling unable to fully participate in her own life. It got so hard that she left a 12+ year career because she couldn't keep going the way things were.

She gave herself six months to just rest. Then she found us.

"Now everything's just kind of all going in the same direction," she says. "I haven't felt this in decades."

Nikki says the biggest shift wasn't a single dramatic moment; it was the steady release of emotions she'd been holding onto for almost 50 years, and learning that healing didn't have to come from talking everything out. It came from her nervous system finally getting the chance to reset.

"Real healing can feel uncomfortable before it feels freeing."

ave you ever been told to "just calm down" while feeling anxious? How'd that work out?

Here's the thing — calm was never a thinking problem. Anxiety lives in the body, not just the mind, which is why you can know you're safe and your body still won't believe it.

Colette breaks down why repetition (not one big breakthrough) is what actually teaches your nervous system to find its way back to calm. Full thoughts in the comments below. 👇

Six reasons, and underneath they are all one.

Insight works from the top down. It gives your thinking mind something to hold, and that matters.

Your nervous system runs on something else. Repetition, and whatever your body has already learned is safe.

Which is how you end up at 2:47am, shoulders at your ears, understanding the whole thing perfectly and still awake.

The understanding is the map. The practice is what changes the ground.

That is what the sessions are. Bottom up, in the body, built for a random Tuesday rather than a retreat.

You never have to share out loud. You are always in control of how far you go.

Twenty years in the military. Mike Chick has carried more than most of us can imagine, and like a lot of veterans, he's dealt with the weight of it ever since: anxiety, sleep issues, PTSD.

He's tried the medications. He's listened to the doctors. What he was looking for was something natural, something he could carry with him anywhere, that didn't depend on a prescription or a doctor's office.

"It changes the way you feel, literally, from the moment you lay down and start breathing."

Mike drives 40 minutes each way for his sessions. He says it's absolutely worth it.

"What do you have to lose? If you gain just a little relief, you're a winner."

Thank you for your service, Mike, and for trusting us with your story. 🕊️

For some people, rest feels unsafe because it's unfamiliar. They're used to doing — working, taking care of everyone, solving problems, staying busy. Then suddenly there's nothing to do, and the body starts scanning, waiting for something to go wrong.

There's a belief that if they stop, they'll lose control. But the body isn't broken — it's asking for rest while still being afraid of it. Listening changes that. The gripping starts to stop. The anxiety starts slowing down.

Rest isn't something everyone instinctively knows how to do. Sometimes it has to become safe first.

People think the women who walk through my door aren't strong. They're tired of being strong. There's a difference — and nobody tells you what it costs to carry it for years without putting it down.

Strength was never the problem. You just haven't been shown it's safe to stop.

Put it down for an hour. Come as you are.
