You don't need to "𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧" after you give birth.

This sentence is thrown around often and not only is it misleading, it has ruined many breastfeeding relationships before it has even started!

People believe they are actually starving their child while they "𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧".

It often leads to unnecessary formula feeding and panic!

𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐊 that your body starts producing while you're pregnant it's called Colostrum.

Colostrum 𝐈𝐒 milk.
✦
It’s there and ready before your baby is born.
✦
And it's in small amounts!

Exactly what your baby needs and is plenty for them in those first few days.

Your baby's tummy is the size of a marble when they are born. That's it.
✦
After those first few days, it transitions into transitional milk and then mature milk.

As 2025 ends so does an era of learning who I am and what I am becoming. As cliche as it is 2026 is ushering in a lot of NEW opportunities. As a result this page will undergo some modifications. Despite these changes, our services will remain.

Notably, our name will change as part of a transition to an LLC, following multiple adjustments over the past decade. With state registration underway, we anticipate LLC approval and receipt of our certificate early in the New Year. This change enables us to categorize all our services, encompassing education, doula support, discipleship, and other pursuits, under a unified personal service brand.

Looking forward with great anticipation for the year of our Lord, 2026.

I learned this a while back during my midwifery training. Why aren’t we using mama’s as incubators more?!? How much PDD could we eliminate if we were not separating premie babies from mamas?!?

💙💜💚 Studies conducted using infrared cameras have found that mothers raise their breast temperature as needed to warm their baby.
🍂 If a mother has twins and one is hypothermal and the other has a normal temperature, the mother's breast which is on the colder side of the baby will raise her temperature up to two degrees higher than the other with the baby at the right temperature.
🍂 Undoubtedly the best sanitary and the best incubator for the premature baby is the mother's body, and she is fantastically equipped to meet the needs of her immature baby.
