Meet Yvonne, a 2026 Care Hero and school counselor at Roseville City School District.

For 25 years, Yvonne has gone above and beyond for her students and families. She does not just address what is in front of her. She looks at the whole picture, making sure students have everything they need to thrive, from food and shelter to the emotional tools to navigate daily life.

In a world where mental health can too easily be overlooked, Yvonne makes sure no student falls through the cracks. That is 25 years of showing up, following through, and starting over when needed. We are so grateful for you, Yvonne!

This is Carmen, and she is a 2026 Care Hero 💙

Carmen has spent years going above and beyond for her school community at Los Angeles USD. She created Wellness Wednesdays, co-facilitated 20 weeks of Saturday nutrition classes, connects families to mental health resources daily, and shows up with holiday meals for families who need a little extra care during the season. She also played a key role in earning Audubon Middle School recognition as one of America's Healthiest Schools six years running.

We had the best time surprising Amber, School Counselor at Van Buren School District, during a meeting with donuts and a big announcement in front of her colleagues: Amber has been named Arkansas' Care Hero of the Year!

Amber goes above and beyond to make sure students and families in her community can access the mental health support they need — no barriers, no waitlists, no one left behind. She is exactly who the Care Hero Award was created to recognize.
