I had a patient recently admitted to the hospital who received extensive testing.
The infectious disease doctor told him that he didn't have Lyme disease, and then the family pulled up this result.
You don't need a medical degree to interpret this test.
I guess I can understand ignoring a positive IgG test because they don't accept that chronic Lyme is a real entity even when patients continue to have symptoms well after the acute treatment is completed.
But a positive IgM means a recent infection! No excuses here!
