Rev. Albert Leonard Clardy

Age 80, born to the late Emmett Hughes Clardy and Barbara Louise Shelby Clardy. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Avanell Harris Clardy and daughters Tonya Renee Owens (Thom), Virginia Beach, VA, and Amanda Faye Martin (Steve), Lewisburg.

Six granddaughters: Kayla Janea Jackson (Dustin), Glasgow, KY; Olivia Lee Pendergrass (Cody), Russellville, KY; Rachel Elizabeth Owens, Monroe, NC; Madison Ann Owens, Lexington, KY; Lindsey Katherine Owens,Virginia Beach,VA; and Lauren Renee Owens, Blacksburg, VA; great grandchildren, Daniel Blake Vibbert, Addalynn Grace Jackson, Hudson Reed Pendergrass, and Everett Pierson Pendergrass.

Brother, Bobby Lee Clardy, Dover, TN; and sister, Barbara Ann Taylor (preceded in death by husband, Hubert Wayne Taylor), Clarksville, TN; sister-in-law, Rose Clardy, Dyersburg, TN; and an ex-sister-in-law that we still consider as family, Sylvia Clardy, Clarksville, TN. Preceded in death by a brother Harry Hughes Clardy.

Albert was the owner and operator of Clardy’s Meat Processing in Lewisburg for over ten years. He did horse shoeing and breaking/training horses for several years. He worked as a contract manager of Wranglers Campground in Land Between The Lakes for several years and designed a couple of the camping areas and started several new programs for the horse loving campers. He loved enjoying the beauty of God’s creation and the special beauty of each season while horseback riding. He loved hunting and trot line fishing and at one time had a commercial fishing license.

He was proud that God allowed him to be the pastor of so many local churches. He was called to preach and ordained at Antioch Baptist Church. The first church he served as pastor was Pleasant View Baptist Church in Kirkmansville, KY in the Christian County Association. From there he went to New Hope Baptist in Clifty, KY. From there he went to Calvary Baptist Church in Morris, IL where God opened the door for him to start a mission in Mazon, IL.

He came back to Logan County for health reasons, but God allowed him to recover and he was called as the pastor of Gupton’s Grove Baptist Church and from there to Beechland Baptist Church. While there, other serious health issues arose and he was out of the ministry for a few years.

After health improvements allowed, he entered the pastorate once again as the pastor of Buchanan Baptist Church in Buchanan, TN near Paris. From there we moved back to our home place on Duncan Ridge Road near Lewisburg. He was honored to be called to pastor New Midway Baptist Church in Butler County. From there he was called to Delmont Baptist Church near Cadiz, KY. Health conditions again became an issue. He resigned planning to retire and possibly do supply work. However, God had other plans for his life. Antioch was without a pastor and in need of spiritual help and healing. In spite of his health issues and limitations, God used him there for the last few years of his active life. He was called to preach while a young man at Antioch and Antioch was the last church he pastored. A great starting place and a great ending place for his ministry. We are thankful that God has allowed so many wonderful people to be a part of his life.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg; with Bro. Ronnie Forrest officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2026, and again from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday.

Betty Jean Laster

Betty Jean Laster, 88 of Russellville, KY, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 26. A native of Todd County, born on September 11, 1937, she was a child of the Depression, the daughter of sharecroppers: Otis Jackson and Mabel “Ione” Sadler Hightower of Allegre. She lived her life in and around Todd County, as the wife and then former wife of a minister, also ministering to the community, singing alto in the choir, teaching and assisting children’s programming. Later, she worked for a time at Rockwell and then became an office assistant, retiring from the Social Services Office.

Yet it is through her small acts of service that she will be remembered: vacuuming a living room when her friend was no longer able, leaving encouraging, handwritten notes in a mailbox, or knocking on a door when few came. If you visited her home, she wouldn’t settle until she was satisfied that you’d been fed, and if you’d stay the night, she’d serve you breakfast on her fine china.

Nothing made her happier than capturing a moment, then tucking it into a photo album, a family gathering (even if she worried there wasn’t enough food), a phone call. To her grandchildren, she’ll be remembered for first library cards, Smurf puzzles, peanut butter cookies, the crisscrossed marks of fork and a sprinkle of sugar on top, and her delicious chocolate chip cookies that were cooled in the kitchen window. To her children, she was home, the keeper of family stories and mementos, the prayer warrior, and the giver of more than a few too-short bangs.

She is preceded in death by four brothers, Dudley Bass and Thelma Boone (children), Winfred Hightower of Hopkinsville, and National DAV Chairman, Billy Hightower of Grand Junction, CO.

She is survived by her three devoted children: Sherry Hill, husband John, of Williamsburg, KY; Victoria Costello, widow of Gary Costello, of Lewisburg, KY; and Jeff Laster of Lewisburg, KY. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren: Jeremy Hill, father to Ethan and Anna, of Clarksville, TN; Jamey Temple, wife of B.J. and mother to Jadon, Chloe, and Declan, of Williamsburg, KY; Keith Costello, husband of Amber and father to Austin, Keira and Kadyn, of Auburn, KY; Matt Costello, father to Trey and Deacon, of Russellville, KY; Lindsay Costello, mother to Sydney and Sadie Pendleton, of Auburn, KY; Lawson Laster, husband of Abby, of Bowling Green, KY; and Joe Dan Laster, husband of Chelsey, father to Everly and Jagger, of Clarksville, TN.

While her family grieves her absence, they are grateful for the life she lived and the many ways she made a difference in the lives of others: the countless people she encourage , welcomed, fed, prayed for, and loved.

Bonnie Jean Thomas

Bonnie Jean Thomas, 84 of Russellville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Med Center Health in Russellville, Kentucky.

She was born Friday, January 9, 1942, the daughter of the late Ben Mitchell O'Neal and the late Lorene Adler O'Neal. She was the wife of Kenneth Thomas of Russellville who survives. Bonnie and Kenneth had a loving and caring relationship. They were married for 60 years.

Bonnie was the owner and operator of Lil-Folk Daycare for over 25 years. Bonnie had a special place in her heart for family and the kids she cared for. She enjoyed spending days outside bird watching. Bonnie was also a proud member of Pleasant Union General Baptist Church in Lewisburg.

In addition to her husband, Bonnie is survived by son, Allen (Cindy) Thomas of Russellville; grandson, Nicholas Thomas of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by brother, Wayne O'Neal.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg; with Bro. Jeremy Brooks and Dr. Chris Vaught officiating. Interment will be in Head Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 5:00 pm at the funeral home, and again from 11:00 am until the time of service on Saturday.

Pallbearers for the service will be grandson, Nicholas Thomas, Steve Hardison, David Hardison, Chad Hardison, Matt Richmond, and Wendell McGhee.

Julie Ellen Talosi

Julie Ellen Talosi, 72 of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026, at her residence in Lewisburg, Kentucky.

She was born Monday, November 2, 1953, the daughter of the late Reginald Thorold and the late Helen Tabaczynski Thorold. Julie had a life long partner, Howard Sterling of Lewisburg, KY.

Julie worked for Sears in the human resource department.

Surviving are two daughters, Nicole Talosi of Wolverine Lake, MI and Christie Talosi of Southgate, MI; one grandchild.

Cremation was chosen by the family.

Harold Dean Wilson

Harold Dean Wilson, 77 of Russellville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Medical Center Health in Russellville, Kentucky.

He was born Wednesday, December 29, 1948, the son of the late Ernest Wilson and the late Ermond Skipworth Wilson.

Harold was a hardworking man who spent many years as a mechanic working at Wilson Towing. He lived life with a sense of humor and had a love for chasing women that always kept those around him laughing. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family, finding his greatest joy in their company.

Surviving are two daughters, Vickie (David) West of Russellville, Kristy (Marvin) Miller of Auburn; three sons, Jimmy (Misty) Wilson of Russellville, Kenny (Donnita) Wilson of Sharon Grove, Erik (Brookelynn) Wilson of Sharon Grove; four sisters, Ruthel Thomas of Russellville, Beatrice Thomas of Chandlers Chapel, Brenda Anderson of Scaramento, KY, Ila Jo Thomas of Lewisburg; three brothers, Glenn (Brenda) Wilson of Lewisburg, Wayne Wilson of Lewisburg, Junior Wilson of Lewisburg; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by son, Richard Wilson; two sisters, Grace Hyams and June Bilyeu; brother, Robert Wilson.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg; with Bro. Jonathan Skipworth officiating. Interment will be in Jarrett Cemetery.

Robbie Brady

Charles Robin "Robbie" Brady, 59 of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Hosparus Health in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born Sunday, November 20, 1966, the son of the late Charles Cain and Barbara Cain, of Lewisburg, who survives. He was the husband of Pamela Marrs Brady, of Lewisburg, who also survives.

He was a self-employed master carpenter, who could make a masterpiece out of anything.

In addition to his wife and mother, Robbie is survived by his three daughters, Breanna (Dan) Nickerson of Burton, MI, Amanda Brady of Charles City, IA, Lisa (Dallas) Parker of Mason City, IA; son, Christopher Geweke-Brady of Charles City, IA; step-son, Jonathan Fox of Russellville, KY; brother, David Cain of Davenport, IA; and several beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Brady, and sister, Penny Estay.

Services will be private.

Maudean Stratton

Maudean Stratton, 79 of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at her residence in Lewisburg, Kentucky.

She was born Tuesday, March 18, 1947, the daughter of the late Winston Askew and the late Lorene Belcher Askew. She was the wife of the late Harold Lee Stratton.

Maudean was a homemaker and was a Christian.

Surviving are son, Steven Stratton of Lewisburg, and sister, Patricia Askew of Lewisburg.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 East Green St. Lewisburg, KY 42256. Burial will follow after the visitation at 12:00 pm at Lewisburg Cemetery located at 95 Richmond Lane, Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256.

Shirley Markwell

Shirley Markwell, 88 of Central City, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Auburn Health Care.

She was born Sunday, July 24, 1938, the daughter of the late Jesse James "Jimmy" Snodgrass and the late Olevia J. Jones Snodgrass. She was the wife of the late William Ode Markwell.

She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lewisburg. Shirley devoted most of her days to providing companionship to older adults.

Surviving are son, James Ode "Bo" Markwell of Murray, KY; sister, Nell Meguiar of Auburn, KY; seven granddaughters; five grandsons; many great grandchildren as well as many great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by three daughters, Shelia Ann Baum, Shirley Jean Reed, Debra Faye Markwell; son, Roger Dale Markwell; sister, Stella Douglas; brother, Joseph Delmer "Bud" Snodgrass.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg; with Bro. Larry Eaton officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
