Yesterday was National Grief Awareness Day, and it is important to reflect on our own losses and how we process and grieve those. Every single person's grief journey is completely unique to them, but we can find support in those around us who can empathize. Grief never truly goes away, we grow around and adapt to our new normal, alongside our grief. Some days are harder than others, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you. We have a fantastic bereavement support program in place for the families of our hospice patients, as well as a Widow's Grief Support group which we will begin in October. Our bereavement coordinator also has a great list of grief resources in our community - if you are interested, we would love to share that with you!

What a fun afternoon at Brookdale Lewiston celebrating Alzheimer's Awareness with Idaho in Home Care . Painting rocks and listening to fabulous music by Bodie Dominguez. So many laughs with wonderful Residents. ❤️

Beautifully said ❤️ We enjoyed spending some time with The Valley Edit to share about hospice and we hope to bring awareness and education to the support hospice can provide, and lessen some of the anxiety and apprehension many have when they hear the word "hospice." Alzheimer’s Lewiston Virtual Caregiver Support Group
August 12 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups, are conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to:

Develop a support system
Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions
Talk through issues and ways of coping
Share feelings, needs and concerns
Learn about community resources
