Sydney Ellis and Shea Smaltz were honored to represent TICC this past Sunday at Strong Fathers, Strong Futures event. We enjoyed connecting with families, sharing resources about the benefits of trauma-informed therapy, and bringing a little extra joy by handing out bubbles to children spending the day with their dads.

Thank you to CornerStone Community Center for creating a space that celebrates fathers, strengthens families, and supports the well-being of our community. We are grateful to be part of these meaningful conversations and connections.

This past Saturday, Ariel Dew and Ashley Robinson represented TICC at the Black Men's Wellness Day put on by African American Male Wellness- Louisville in Louisville, KY. We were honored to connect with community members and share the importance of trauma-informed therapy, while creating space for conversations around healing, mental wellness, and the unique experiences of black men.

Our Trauma and Substance Use Group Therapy sessions will begin meeting every Tuesday from 3pm to 5pm. This will provide adults with a supportive environment to explore the connection between trauma and substance use while building healthy coping skills and meaningful connections.

TICC is beginning group therapy for teens ages 13-18 with trauma every Thursday from 3pm-5pm. This opportunity provides a safe, supportive space for adolescents to build healthy coping skills, strengthen resilience, and connect with peers on a similar healing journey. Because every teen deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Accredited by The Joint Commission, the Trauma Informed Counseling Center is offering two IOP programs to support teens and adults. Each IOP runs 4 weeks, starting July 13th, and most commercial and Medicaid insurances are accepted.

Adults IOP (ages 18+)= Substance Use & Trauma
Teens IOP (ages 14-17)= Trauma

As a trauma-focused practice, TICC recognizes that PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing traumatic events and can affect every aspect of a person's life. Increasing awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages understanding, and reminds those who are struggling that healing is possible.

Today, we honor Juneteenth. A day that celebrates freedom, resilience, and the strength of Black communities.

At TICC, a practice led by a Black woman, we are committed to creating an inclusive space where people from all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and supported. We recognize that Black mental health matters and that access to compassionate, culturally responsive care is an important part of overall well-being.

As we reflect on this day, we remain dedicated to reducing barriers to mental health support and fostering healing within our community.
