Shout out to the amazing Bree Hilton (SLPA) for this super fun and creative Lava Lamp DIY activity and shout to Ms. Kelsey (office manager) for creating this awesome video clip!!

We truly have such an amazing team.... from therapists to administration.

So. incredibly. blessed!

This simple lava lamp craft can target so many different skills!
-Language: Practice words like “open” and “more”
-Following Directions: “Put in,” “shake,” and other 1-step directions
-Work & Earn: Use the craft as a motivating activity while working toward a goal
-Fine Motor: Pouring, squeezing, shaking, and manipulating materials

Materials:
- sensory bottles (you can also use regular water bottles)
- beads to put name in it (optional)
- baby oil/vegetable oil
- food coloring
- alka seltzer (optional, makes the "lava active")
- super glue (so kiddos can't open the bottle in the car!)

Steps:
1. Fill the bottle 1/3-1/4 full with water
2. Add beads (if using)
3. Add food coloring and shake it
4. Add oil until bottle is mostly full
5. Add alka seltzer (if using)
6. Once alka seltzer is no longer fizzing, glue the top of the bottle and let dry for 5 minutes.

NEW PROGRAM ALERT - "OCCUPANT WITH AUTISM" DECALS

Responding to the needs of the Town of Lexington, SC community is of great importance to the Lexington Police Department and we are now offering free "Occupant with Autism" decals so that first responders will have greater awareness and understanding during traffic stops, collisions, or a roadside emergency with someone who has Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The "Occupant with Autism" decals are free of charge and can be picked up at the front desk of the Lexington Police Department at 111 Maiden Lane in Lexington during business hours.
