“I was living in a body that didn’t suit me anymore.”

After losing nearly 150 pounds with the help of gastric sleeve surgery, Denise did the hard work and kept the weight off. But the excess skin left behind didn’t reflect how far she had come.

In Episode 8 of The Reveal Room, Dr. Lynch sits down with the patient he affectionately calls his “OG.” 🦋

Denise gets real about losing the weight, body dysmorphia, excess skin, recovery and the surgeries that helped her finally see the shape she had worked so hard for: a tummy tuck with liposuction, breast augmentation and arm lift.

She even shares the emotional moment she was first unwrapped after surgery and why seeing a shape in her clothes instead of feeling like “a blob” has been such an awesome feeling.

In Episode 8 of The Reveal Room, Melanie shares her personal experience with plastic surgery in her 60s and why she wishes she had taken that first step sooner.

She started with a facelift and neck lift with Dr. Hill and says the hardest part was simply walking through the door for that first consultation. Once she did, she felt at ease.

Dr. Hill explains his approach to facelift surgery: “It’s not to make you look different, it’s to make you look more like yourself.”

For Melanie, that’s exactly what happened. She says she actually looks more like the version of herself she remembers from her 20s, 30s and 40s.

“I’m much happier now. I’m back to me.”

A procedure we don’t talk about enough: gynecomastia surgery. 🦋

Dr. Hill’s patient underwent a gynecomastia, also known as male breast reduction, to reduce excess tissue and create a flatter, more defined chest contour.

Who is it for? Men who are bothered by excess breast tissue or fullness in the chest that hasn’t improved with weight loss, exercise or other treatment may be candidates.

And more men are considering it. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, gynecomastia surgery saw an 11% increase from 2023 to 2024…the largest increase among cosmetic surgical procedures for men.

Depending on the patient, treatment may involve liposuction, removal of glandular tissue and/or removal of excess skin. The right approach depends on each patient’s anatomy and goals.
