It’s back-to-school time again! 📖During this busy time of finding school supplies, clothes, and backpacks, don’t forget about these important safety precautions if your kids have allergies or asthma:
✔️ Submit the proper health forms with the school. List all health conditions, even if they seem common or minor.
✔️ Check expiration dates on all prescription medications (epinephrine auto-injectors, rescue inhalers, etc.) that will be supplied to the school.
✔️ Your allergist may need to provide information, their signature, or new prescriptions. Be sure to contact the doctor’s office early enough in advance.
✔️ If supplying epinephrine auto-injectors to the school, be sure to have enough for the teachers and bus drivers to carry. Check with the school for the recommended number.
✔️ Fill in new forms each year. Even if the child's health hasn’t changed, don’t assume the school will have information on file from last year.
With these things completed, you'll be ready for a fun and safe school year! For allergy and asthma testing and treatment call Bluegrass Allergy Care at 888-651-0055 or visit bluegrassallergycare.com.
