Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass

The Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass is a healing place for sexually abused children.

The Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass is a nonprofit organization that seeks to reduce the trauma experienced by sexually abused children. The organization coordinates the investigation of child sexual abuse cases in the 17-county Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky. The Children's Advocacy Center employs specially trained forensic interviewers, operates a full medical clinic to conduct

sexual abuse examinations, and offers victim counseling and advocacy support to begin the healing process. All services are provided in a nurturing, friendly and safe environment at no cost to a child's family. CAC also provides education and training to improve community response to child sexual abuse.

Abby has been going above and beyond in a lot of ways recently through supporting colleagues, helping out at the front desk when needed, and quickly connecting children and families in need to our services. Abby is often the first person that many of our community partners interact with, and we are incredibly grateful for all that she does to help foster the pursuit of safety and healing for those in need.

At “An Evening for the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass,” we were honored to recognize one of our very own, Dr. Jacqueline Sugarman.

For the past 20 years, Dr. Sugarman has served as the Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass's Medical Director, providing trauma-informed medical care for children who have experienced sexual abuse. She has made an incredible impact on our Center and the children and families we serve, and we are deeply grateful for her commitment to ensuring children have access to the resources and services they need to heal.

We are still in awe of how incredible Friday was! It was another record-breaking year, and that wouldn't be possible without YOU!

Thank you to everyone who supported "An Evening for the Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass". Together, we were able to shine a light on the issue of child sexual abuse, giving hope for a better future. Our hearts are full!

CAC of the Bluegrass would like to thank Kentucky State Police Cadet Class 107 for volunteering at our Center this past weekend! They worked hard to mulch our playground, w**d outside of our building, and help do some deep cleaning inside. Our Center is looking beautiful!

We value our partnership with KSP, and wish these cadets the best of luck as they finish their time at the training academy!
