Meet Casey Hudson, LCSW ✨

Casey works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and the complicated in-between seasons that can feel hard to sort through alone.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. She blends evidence-based tools like CBT, DBT, ART, and motivational interviewing with a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can slow down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and build skills that actually fit their lives.

Casey is currently accepting new clients in Lexington and via telehealth across Kentucky.

If Casey sounds like someone you may connect with, reach out to Resurgence Counseling Center to learn more or get started. 💬

Maybe you’re not “too sensitive.”

Maybe your nervous system just got really, really good at noticing what might go wrong. 👀

Trauma responses aren’t always dramatic or obvious. Sometimes they look like:

• people pleasing
• over-explaining
• constantly reading the room
• avoiding conflict at all costs
• needing reassurance
• shutting down when emotions get too big
• feeling responsible for everyone else’s mood

These patterns often started for a reason.

The goal of therapy isn’t to shame yourself out of them. It’s understanding what your brain and body learned to do to keep you safe, then deciding what still serves you now.

September at Resurgence, we’re talking about trauma responses + adaptations and the everyday ways they can show up.

August, you were… a lot. 🫠

If you’re ending the month with unfinished goals, unchecked boxes, unanswered texts, laundry you definitely meant to fold, or plans that didn’t happen exactly how you imagined them:

You’re still allowed to turn the page.

You don’t have to earn a fresh start by finishing everything first.

Take what worked.
Learn from what didn’t.
Leave some stuff in August where it belongs.

September, we’re ready for you. ✌️

Happy National Just Because Day 💗

A gentle reminder that you are, in fact, allowed to do things that serve absolutely no purpose.

Buy the expensive snack.
Start the book and abandon it 37 pages later.
Take the long way home because the playlist is hitting.
Cancel the thing you said yes to while possessed by people-pleasing.
Sit outside and stare into the middle distance like a Victorian woman with secrets.

Not everything has to become a goal, a habit, a side hustle, a healing journey, or a damn checklist.

Sometimes the reason can simply be:

because I wanted to.

Wild concept. Deeply controversial. Highly recommended. 😌

Why do I feel guilty saying no?

Because apparently somewhere along the way, “being a good person” got translated into:

• always being helpful
• always being available
• remembering everything for everyone
• keeping the peace
• making things easier for other people
• and never, under any circumstances, becoming mildly inconvenient 😅

So now setting a boundary can feel less like saying “no” and more like committing a tiny felony against everyone’s feelings.

In honor of Women’s Equality Day, here’s your reminder that being caring and being endlessly available are not the same thing.

You’re allowed to have limits. You’re allowed to disappoint people. You’re allowed to stop volunteering yourself as the emotional support department for the entire group chat.

So… what’s one thing you need to start saying no to without writing a five-paragraph apology afterward? 👀

Today we’re celebrating Women’s Equality Day 💗

Here’s to taking up space, using your voice, asking for more, setting the boundary, and not shrinking yourself to make everyone else comfortable.

It’s Kiss & Make Up Day, which feels appropriate because some of us have absolutely turned “what do you want for dinner?” into a relationship case study. 😅

Healthy relationships still have conflict. The goal isn’t to never disagree. It’s learning how to repair, reconnect, take accountability, and communicate without letting one frustrating moment turn into a three-act drama.

If you’re looking for support individually, as a couple, or with family and relationship dynamics, we have clinicians who would love to help.

We offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and support for a wide range of relationship concerns, with both in-person and telehealth appointments available.

You can sit down and still never actually rest. 😅

If your “break” is spent mentally rewriting your to-do list, feeling guilty for being unproductive, or convincing yourself you haven’t earned downtime yet… your brain is still very much on the clock.

Rest isn’t a reward for finishing everything. Sometimes it’s what helps you keep going without burning all the way out.
