Exciting new renovations continuing to happen right here at our new home, the HUB ❤️🙌! Some rooms and our receptionist area are taking shape. Office furniture and desks being moved in. As everything is coming together, we continue to transform our new office space into the welcoming environment it's meant to be 💙.

It’s more than an office, but a one-stop shop where individuals and families obtain access to community resources, organizations, partners, and other support systems. We're all about serving those to create new opportunities, remove those barriers, build relationships, and make a difference in the lives of those we serve 🤝.

We’re super excited about the HUB and look forward to sharing the continued progress as we work toward building a healthier, more connected Davidson County ❤️💙.

Today we are highlighting one of our clients who has been impacted by the life-changing services of Davidson Medical Ministries! ❤️💙

Meet Stephen Byerly,

Born and raised in Lexington, NC. Stephen enjoys spending time outdoors whether it’s four-wheeling , fishing 🎣, or riding his scooter . However, he has faced challenges that made everyday life difficult. Nearly 25 years ago, Steven got into an accident that left him unable to work. He’s navigated financial hardships, hearing loss which has made it difficult to communicate and access services, and challenges managing multiple medical appointments.

That’s where Davidson Medical Ministries and DC Connect came into his life. Through his connection with our medical clinic, now operated by Kintegra Health, Stephen found more than healthcare access. People who were willing to listen, navigate those challenges, and connect him with resources to improve his quality of life ❤️💙. He has received help by obtaining glasses, hearing aids, transportation 🚗 to medical appointments and understanding his Medicare options.

When asked how these services have impacted his life, Stephen shared “ I cannot even begin to explain” adding ‘They have helped me so much” 🙌🤝! Today, he’s looking toward the future with hopes of finding stable housing and exploring cochlear implants.

Stephen’s story is a reminder that every person deserves the opportunity with a healthier life with the right services and community resources ❤️. Building relationships, restoring hope, and helping our neighbors make meaningful steps towards a healthier stable future 💙.

Today we are highlighting one of the many faces that make Davidson Medical Ministries special- Church and Community Relations Committee Member Vicky Gray ❤️💙!

During her 31 years as an educator, Vicky saw that caring for students meant caring for the whole child. When families could not afford medical 💊 or dental care 🦷, she found a resource in DMM. Whether it was a painful tooth or a sore throat needing treatment, she saw the need for how access to care could make a difference in one of her student's lives 🙌❤️.

When she retired in 2007, she wanted to give back to the organization that helped her students over the years. Sue Perell Beck, then Chair of DMM’s Church and Community Relations Committee invited her to join the fundraising planning to help with the Spring Fling 🌸🌸. It became her first fundraising event with DMM, a tradition she has continued to plan since.

Vicky has watched DMM grow and serve more families. Through all the changes, she remains proud to be a part of its mission and work alongside the kind, dedicated people who make that work possible ❤️💙!

Here at Davidson Medical Ministries & DC Connect, we house the SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) provided by the NC Department of Insurance in Davidson County. The SHIIP Program provides FREE, unbiased Medicare information and counseling.

We have trained volunteers that can help you better understand your options including, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D prescription drug plans, Medicare supplements, Extra Help, Medicare Savings Program, and more. SHIIP Counselors don’t sell or endorse insurance plans, their goal is to provide information so you can make informed decisions about the coverage that best works for you.

From October 15- December 7, Medicare beneficiaries have the opportunity to review their current coverage or make changes for the upcoming year. Navigating Medicare doesn’t have to be something you do alone 🤝. Our SHIIP volunteers are proud to serve Davidson County helping individuals and caregivers better understand their options and connect with the information they need. ✅

We were delighted to host this morning’s Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce (NC) breakfast in our new office and HUB space🙌! It was great to connect with our community partners and local businesses with some great food and the coffee ☕️ courtesy of Black Chicken Coffee.

Janise shared our mission and vision for the HUB, and everyone toured the facility to see the space taking shape.

The HUB represents hope, connection, and a healing place for individuals and families to find support and community resources ❤️. Our building will bring light 💡 into darkness for people going through difficult times, showing them they don’t have to face them alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning and shared in our excitement of what’s ahead. Together we’re building a healthier, more connected Davidson County! 🤝❤️💙

Today we are highlighting one of the many faces that make Davidson Medical Ministries special- Community Health Worker Ana Davis❤️💙!

Ana serves anyone who walks through our doors. Whether she’s helping someone apply for food assistance, Medicaid, explore housing options, find household items, or connect with food pantries and clothing closets, Ana helps connect people with the resources they need! 🙌

Ana first joined DMM in December 2020 before leaving in August 2023, to work for the county in an administrative role. She returned in December 2025 as a part time Community Health Worker and is now training to become a Peer Support Specialist. She looks forward to using the role to support individuals impacted by substance use and those transitioning back into the community.

What Ana loves most is the opportunity to connect with people face-to-face 🤝. She enjoys hearing their stories 📖, learning about their needs, welcoming them without judgement, and helping them find their next step 🙌. A group especially close to her are single mothers working to create better lives for themselves and their children. She also treasures the connections made with the DMM team, especially enjoys welcoming new employees over breakfast learning more about them. Being reminded of the skills and qualities each person brings to the organization.

Looking ahead, Ana is excited about the HUB and the opportunity to bring DMM, DC Connect, and other community agencies together under one roof 🏠. She loves the idea that someone walks through the door for help with one need and discover connections to other resources they may have not even realized were available. 💙❤️

The HUB is continuing to take shape ❤️ ! Most of the space has new flooring coming in along with fresh paint bringing life into the building. The hard work happening is bringing us closer to the welcoming space we envisioned for our DC community!

Bringing community partners and vital resources together under one roof is the forefront of our mission so individuals and families in Davidson County can connect with the support they need. 🤝

We’re grateful for everyone putting in the time, care, and hard work into the transformation. Follow along as we continue renovating a place meant for connection , purpose, and new beginnings! 🙌🌱

Today, we want to spotlight our partnership with Your Pharmacy Of Lexington and the difference they continue to make in our community! 🤝

Your Pharmacy is a community-based pharmacy built around one thing: taking care of people 💙. Focusing on getting to know their customers, understanding their needs, and helping whenever and however they can! ❤️

Their services extend beyond filling prescriptions. They provide seasonal vaccinations throughout the year and make pill packs to help individuals with multiple medications stay organized and manage their health needs 💊. The cost for medication can be a major barrier for many people. That’s why Your Pharmacy works with customers who may struggle with copays, help connect individuals with Medicaid and offer charge accounts that allow customers to pay at the end of the month instead of needing money every time they pick up medication. 💊

For 45 years, Your Pharmacy has built relationships that span generations. Caring for grandparents, their children, and now their grandchildren 🫶!
